I wonder if Netflix worried they could have to postpone shows releases like they did with final seasons to both YOU and stranger things because of the writer strikes. Shows that usually took 1-2 years between seasons are taking 2-4 years to release.
The bread and lottery scene can symbolize those who took the lottery will likely join the Squid Game (gambling their life) while those who took the bread wouldn't. So when Gong Yoo (the recruiter) was talking about his dad and ended up killing him, he realized his dad was 'trash' like the other people he viewed as trash.

my only grievance w season 2, is how silly (albeit human) it is that the mc really put himself through hell again just for the TINY chance, that he could convince a bunch of strangers to follow his instructions.
It makes sense for the character. He is still gambling. Just with the chance of shutting down the game. (At the expense of abandoning his ONE responsibility. Seeing his daughter)
But also, that’s not what he did. Remember, he didn’t go there to actually play. He went there with a tracker thinking they would stop the games with his team. His goal wasn’t to go, play, put himself in danger, and try to convince people. He had to pivot to that.

Charged after the beep just means if you’re on a data plan or have minutes, you won’t be charged against any of that if you hang up before the beep. After the beep you leave a message and get charged.

@@mzhelenahyde2851 yeah he could that’s completely plausible but he survived a gun shot wound in the water. Like that’s a lot of bacteria and along with some blood lost… he should’ve been pulled out of the water fairly soon or he would’ve succumbed to injuries. Just my opinion tho
