  • The iconic test that Raistlin takes is one of the most famous features of Krynn, and if you are DMing a game of Dragonlance, you've probably thought about running it yourself. Here's some ideas to get you started.
We do a lot of Dragonlance here, so be sure and subscribe
Get my new book, The Hallowing of Ground: amzn.to/3mDA2kC
Check out the Dice & Dreary podcast for more role playing with me playing Crethan. www.diceanddrea...
We do a lot of game music and retro gaming here too.
The music in this episode is my cover of the music from the Dragons of Despair module itself.

I just finished reading Chronicles. Although I've read it (and Legends) 8 or 9 times before, not within the last 30 years. It reads so much like a campaign that I can hear the dice rolling whenever they make a choice. Fizban even sounds like a dm. Even after all these years, reading them was still a great time.

My players started in the region of Ergoth. I was going to have the Citidel of Magius be a dungeon that will double as the test for my wizard player.
Your videos are super helpful for a newbie dm like me. I'm in love with Dragonlance and wanted to do my own original story in the setting. Your videos have been really key to my prep work. Thanks so much!

I love this insight. Thanks for walking us through it and providing your sources so we can do a bit of our own research.

Thanks so much for this, I am literally about to run a 5e session where the wizard in the group has to take his test.

I'm currently running SotDQ and I feel like the test is waaaaay to late in that adventure (the party is almost level 8 if you run it as written) so I feel like I should move it up

I am running a DragonLance campaign where my setting is after Paladine steps down and the gods leave then returned. They are searching for something in the Tower of High Sorcery. I just don't have any information on what's in the forest and tower protecting them from outsiders.

interesting info. As a dm i want to add elements of dragon lance to my 5 e home brew world. my current group does not have any magic users, just as well as they are newbies, they have a cleric npc aiding them as of now. Perhaps when they have a bit more understanding of the mechanics we will see if any choose to dip their toes into the weave
