I have the same pair and I love them. The reason they look more worn than they are is because the black layer on top of the grey is incredibly thin. It's actually really good suede though underneath. I think they designed them like that on purpose. Mine are put together beautifully.
Then reason why new balance 480 and dunks look similar. Along with new balance 480 came out in 1983 later nike copy them in 1985. Lastly, its comfortable shoe and definitely debating addd this grey and blue color second pair in my collection
480's were way to narrow for me and hurt the hell outta my feet. also my heel kept popping out unless i really tightened em. which made my feet hurt more haha
Were they narrow all around for you? For me the toes feel good, kind of wide actually, but mid foot around the arch is just insanely narrow. If I miss a trick or take any impact it kills my foot so I’ll probably have to replace the insole
@@Quadruple_curious exactly the same for me too. i made a couple video's on it if you wanna check em out. i ended up throwin some dunk insoles in there. changed the whole feel of the shoe for the better
You should try the 440 from new balance. A lot more board feel. Or adidas forum 84. They take a while to break in, so I would suggest, wear them when you aren’t skating for a week and they will break in perfect.
I have 2 pairs, the non-skate ones were on promotional sale for $40 when the Reynolds colorways came out. I bought the white leather with black outsole, and the black basic ones. Had to go a full size down on the non-numerics. Wearing them around pretty often, I like them. The numerics have foam inside the cupsole if you remove the insole and look at the last you can see the footbed is foam while the basic has the cupsole grid because it's a tall outsole. I don't know how I feel about them for skating, because I like board feel lately, and don't like being locked into a taller shoe in case it tips over when I might roll my ankle and make it worse. My favorite shoe is currently much different than this and very simplified, the nike chron in canvas with xtended wear laces, lighter than my accel slim x 1.5 swift. If I wanna go courser, I break out the telfords. These would be if I needed to do something big, without going into bmx crossover shoe territory. I'm in my early 30's getting back into skating a few months now and the Reynolds 480 release coinciding, made me wanna go skate again. Reading about the tech in the shoe, Andrew changing shoe companies, etc. it just brought me back to my adolescent nostalgia, and it seemed like fun. The first Ishod wairs were also cool, buying a few pairs on sale. I like react tech and boardfeel, good shoe.
DC Lynx Zero looks just like Dunks to me. same paneling, same gum cupsole. They are also a bit narrow, just like Dunks, but I like them a lot and would rather wear just about anything else but Nike, personally
How's that little stumpy board treating you? Curious what you are finding good and bad about that short wheelbase, I'm considering a short wheelbase on my next deck.

Checks out and I think worth adding to rotation!
Both of them took from Adidas Forum which came out first! That’s the original silhouette they both took from.
@@alv33buenonew balance came out in 1983. Lastly adidas came out in 1984 still year after new balance.
NB - 480: 1983
Adidas - Forum: 1984
Nike - Dunk & AJ1: 1985
Haha we rock the same fit, carpet, polar, n 480s 🙌 loving em btw, but I've never tried dunks, Nike usually to narrow for me

More narrow than I thought too

How's the DLX board feel? Since it's your first, anything stand out about it compared to everything else?
The small wheelbase has been so chill!

What your skating something other than dunks 😂 hell yeah 👍🏾
I love how they wear...I'm a huge fan of the scuff shred look. Siiiiick , dowdy the man lol
Sane they look nicer once they get a lil scuffed up
@spencernuzzi absolutely, same w leather shoes, I hate how they look until you skate them. Then they look so sick.
Skate shoes look like skate shoes look like skate shoes...
Literally look at any vans skate shoes they all look the same
dowdy’s sound effects were great in this
You should try out the new 440 v2!
Do they fit wider than dunks, I find dunks to narrow ?
They fit pretty similar
Looks cool

Oh yee also old dc Manteca’s looked like them too. I think that’s what they were called. And I wanna skate OG Lynx again! It’s been too long !
You look fried ❤
I’m so used to seeing you in dunks haha (perfect hi-top in my opinion) 480’s look nice but I have too many shoes
I feel the too many shoes but I had to try these!
Love 480’s
Basically a Marcello Decampo shoe that nb where too cheap put his name on and pay him for. Bloody corporate brands
