Great review. I'm finally going to buy them. I have been sorting mounds of change. Hundreds of dollars worth. I can't find a bank who has a machine who will do it anymore and I'm not about to let Coinstar take 20%. It is the separating that takes forever so this will be great. I have a little machine that will help with rolling. I just wasn't sure if these trays would really work.
“This is where an animated logo would go” Dude you crack me up🤣 Absolutely love your channel and videos👍🏻 But yes, my 3yr old daughter (who’s starting to take an interest in my collection because she loves the “shiny” coins) would love this to make a lot of noise. Me, not so much. I’m with you, it’s just as fast to short them by hand🖐🏻
Gotta disagree with you at 5:12 where you say that you don't know if this does that much better of a job than sorting them by hand. I save tons of change for my son in tins from the dollar store, that cannot be opened unless you break them open. We usually break them open after having about 4-5 cans full of change. We don't save pennies. Between me and one other person, it legit takes us any where from 30-60 min to sort through and count the change by hand. Every time we've done this, we've counted any where from $500 -$700 in coins, with the exception of some some ones, fives and 10 bills added. So these trays are for sure a time saver, and they also limit how much you physically have to touch all that money, which results in dirty fingers.
My buddy works at a convince store over night. Once a customer was buying about $43 of stuff and tried to break a 100 bill and buddy couldn't accept it (unless it was closer to $85 being spent) . So the customer just paid in all change from a giant jar and made it work. They started from quarters and worked their way down (also a few 50 cent pieces and dollar coins). But having this tray set would have made the process faster and done in 1/3 the time then manually counting the coins. Also buddy can't hold too much in his drawer over night cause of the liability of being robbed and if a robber did try to rob the place they wouldn't get much out of them.
I saw this set at OfficeMax the other day. Really appreciate the review. It looks like fun! I don't think this would be an aid for what I do though. If I'm sorting rolls to then turn around and return, I roll them immediately and they don't get mixed. If I'm tossing coins in a mixed container, I end up just taking them to the bank anyway. Definitely fun for kids though.
Yeah. I didn't think of it when I was making the video but I bet it would be useful for workers in places where they get a lot of tips in change... So them, kids, maybe buskers... there's a small list of people these things might work for. :)
@@ubreakitirepairit3569 mine does. A local credit union. They have a sorting machine in the lobby. Toss in the mixed coins, grab the ticket, get your money. This was a feature I looked around for before I chose this bank.

LOL thank you! My sense of humor gets me a lot of eye rolls around here, which is fully understandable.

Good point. At that volume I can see these being helpful.

Thanks so much. I’m going to buy one! 7:06
Interesting item. I agree that it would be pretty cool for some kids.
Yeah. I need a deluxe model. Twice as big and felt-lined to suppress the sound and maintain the domestic tranquility.

What bank takes mixed coins? Every time I've taken a bunch of mixed change to the bank, they always say they have to be rolled.
