It's not like there isn't crime in every NHL city. Winnipeg is safer than most US cities and if you avoid some dangerous areas crime is not that bad. Winnipeg is a winter city and due to its location in the centre of the continent, its weather is at the extremes. Hot summers and cold winters. But it is in the heart of hockey focused prairies. In terms of NHL cities, Winnipeg is on the small side, but that is not always a negative to a player with a young family and looking to settle down. Let's keep in mind the Jets finished 4th in the NHL standings last season, so McGroarty definitely took a step down to a non-playoff team. He was also interviewed by the Jets before the draft and said he'd like to play in Winnipeg. I think he decided the competition on the Jets roster was too high. No gimmie spots on the Jets roster.
TROUBA wanted more ice time and wanted to be the corner stone of the defence. And with Morrissey and big Buff in the fold at that time, he was never going to be the man in Winnipeg so he requested a trade like a baby, which is happening more and more to teams all over the league not necessarily on geographic's but on Taxes and a chance to win, even though Wpg is a great team right now. Screw those losers and bring on the true north players that are focussed on Winning now!! I am really looking forward to this season as a life long Jets fan living in another Canadian city now for over 10 years. Keep up the good work, I enjoy watching and listening to your perspective on the Jets and hope you get picked up one day by CBC or Sportsnet. Cheers!
I had no idea you're in Baltimore. How did you become a Jets fan in Baltimore? I thought you'd be a Washington Capitals fan being in Baltimore? I'm from Maui, but my wife is from Winnipeg & is a massive Winnipeg Jets fan and they became my team because of her. I'm originally a College Football & Premier League guy (Still a College Football & Premier League guy), but I got into the Winnipeg Jets & Hockey because of my wife and watching Hockey games/Jets games with her since their reboot in 2011. I wonder how many more Winnipeg Jets fans there are outside of Winnipeg?
Long story short, I briefly watched some old Thrashers highlights years ago, forgot about the team, realized they were the Jets around the start of 14-15, and followed them ever since.
@@LockedOnJetsNHL Wait, so you became a Jets fan because you're originally an Atlanta Thrashers fan? If so, that's really unique and unheard of. That's like becoming an Oklahoma City Thunder fan because you're originally a Seattle Supersonics fan. I guess nobody in Baltimore cares about the Washington Capitals lol
@@gregd5064 Dude, Buff is my favorite Winnipeg Jet ever. The man was freaking overweight AF, but was tough as nails & could do some really fancy/slick plays. He's like if Charles Barkley & Pavel Datsyuk had a baby lol. Miss Buff.
I’m looking forward to seeing how Graham Sward does in the young stars tournament he was a favourite for me when he was playing for the Winnipeg ice when they were still here and was really good on a team that sold all their key players, also pretty sure he could have been signed but just didn’t want to play for Nashville
Really nice having you represent our team you are loyal and love listening every single time.
NY offered Trouba a contract that Winnipeg absolutely could not match. And as you mentioned, it has not aged all that well.
McGroarty’s return to Winnipeg won’t be nearly as rough as Cutter’s return to Philly 😂
Hahaha now there's going to a funny sight.
Thanks for representing Winnipeg. Appreciate the videos

Winnipeg is safer than pretty much every US city
I still can’t believe the deal we had for Dubois…

@@LockedOnJetsNHL So you were a Buff fan.
This story would make a great vid!

Harrison how did you feel when the key bridge collapsed also I'm a big Jets fan and all the Canadian teams
Very crushed. Was a weird feeling the day it happened, like something you'd been familiar with your whole life just vanished.
I'm from the Philadelphia Pennsylvania suburbs and I Root for the jets and all the Canadian teams
hold up Harrisons from Baltimore? Do we let him in our club?
Hahaha, I'm too deep into it now to be kicked out....probably.
100%!!! That is cool to hear. Glad you love our Jets!
@@austinward5109 The one thing I missed out on the last time I was there was getting a Winnipeg burger.
Does anyone really know the whole Buyfglien story?
I do, he held the franchise hostage for over a year and bailed the next year.
Baltimore......yikes.....Go Ravens.....and Orioles.
