Excellent demonstrations! Sweet projects that even beginners could do. Easy to change these projects up for different seasons or themes with appropriate fabric choices. Thanks for sharing the links in the description box, too.
Love the binding join method! Never seen it before. Will be making these for my mini group for Xmas but will machine stitch both sides of binding. Thanks Kate!❤
Super cute! I love throw pillows. I've never made a pot holder before. I'm looking forward to it. I'll be adding these to my project list. Thank you! 🥰
These are fun and useful projects. Thanks for sharing. I like the way you left the opening on heart cushion and closed it. This is an easier and nicer look than trying to get a smooth finish on the outer edge. I make binding the same way! Have tried other methods, but always go back to this method. 😊
try insul bright. Walmart has small rolls inexpensive also if you have a scrap of quilt batting you can line the pillow front and back b4 stuffing them so it will be smooth instead of lumpy. Great video and fun ideas TFS!
I personally stitch down the corners…binding on the potholder. Isn’t there some kind of batting you can buy that is heat resistant? A heart pillow would be wonderful to make for the grandkids.❤
I love that tip when sewing down the corner! I always forget to do that since I learned the other way first. There is a batting called Insul-bright for hot/cold projects and another called Wrap N Zap. Wrap N Zap can be microwaved but the Insul-bright can't, so either would work for a hot pad! I just use 100% cotton. :)
The heart pillow could also be used to help cushion ports that are put just under the arm by the armpit. Definitely will be making one for a family member who needs it. Thank you!❤
I have one caveat. I’m a nurse, and my mother is a breast cancer survivor, so please don’t think I’m just nitpicking. I don’t recommend pillows with seams like this for patients who have had surgery/radiation/etc. That skin is extremely sensitive, and the smallest thing can cause discomfort and skin breakdown. It’s a lovely thought, but would be more useful made of solid pieces of fabric with a pretty print, if you like. Again, not criticizing, just offering my personal and professional perspective.
@@seekatesew And I thought about that before I commented. But in many cases, lymph nodes have been removed under the arm, and there is long term tenderness and swelling in that area as well. That’s why I suggested single pieces of fabric for each side. Between surgery and radiation burns (if the patient undergoes radiation,) the skin in those areas is really sensitive and fragile. It’s still a very pretty pillow, but I wouldn’t use it for a mastectomy/lumpectomy patient. Again, not nitpicking, just sharing insight after close personal and professional experience. Thanks for the other projects in your video! Very cute! I may try the potholders with some scrap fabric in my stash. 😊
can we stop with this '20 minutes or less' ??!!!! nobody is making any of these in 20 minutes! that said ... cute stuff and I liked the trick of joining the binding on the pot holders... (which binding alone and hand stitching takes more than 20 minutes.)

Thanks so much Norma!

I just listened to a You Tube video about vocal fry. Now I can't unhear it!! the potholder turned out very cute!

Thanks Julia! I agree, it's so hard to get a nice finish on a curved edge like a heart! Thanks for watching!!

Great tip Judith - thank you!!
Nice. 😊
Thank you Ann!
Awesome ideas!
Thank you so much Becky!!
So cute! And you're right, they are fast sews. Thanks!
Thank you Louise!
I've never used the two layers of batting but I have used the batting that's made for pot holders and things for heat resistance
That works too!
Easy and lovely thanks.
Thanks for watching!! :)
Love these. Also use insul bright. For pot holders. Resists heat
Thanks for the tip!
I couldn’t remember the name of that stuff…thanks for sharing.❤
Love your projects.❤
Thank you Barbara!
Pillow also great for open heart surgery patients. Helps them to cough for pneumonia prevention.

That's great feedback! I made sure the back of the pillow didn't have patchwork so hopefully it will be okay.

I understand what you're saying but this is a pot holder, not under clothes
I like your video very much. You immediately get to thepoint, there isnt any annoying background music, and you have a nice voice.
Thank you ❤
@@margaretWestminster if you read my comment, it was specifically about the mastectomy pillow, not the other projects.
❤❤❤❤❤
simply cute! have you ever used “insul-brite?”
Thank you!! I have not used it but have heard great things about it!
insule bright for the middle it made for heat
Yes that's a great product!
Does your iron burn your hand when you use the steam setting?
I haven't had that issue!
Hi sister , may I know the name of that spray?
Hi! I use June Tailor Spray Baste :)

Thank you!! I can hand stitch pretty quick now but it would be faster if you used a machine! Maybe 30 minutes if you hand stitch ;)
I loved the video except the bumping the camera. That made me dizzy and kind nauseous 🤮
Sorry! I need a better camera stand :)
