Yes it is, but he still murdered somebody even if he's injured and defenseless. If this is just one stab before running away, the court will probably sentence him more linearly.
not rlly he attacked him even more. He could have just pushed him away and run from the house but instead just attacked him. Which is why imo i wouldnt call it it self-defense
The victim is dead. Of course the accused can cook up any BS story to justify the killing. It seems very unlikely that the victim would wanna kill him cos he changed an agent (that’s just a story he cooked up anyway). It’s more likely that the murderer stabbed the victim to silence and rob him. Killing someone for $ is like a very common motive. When caught, many murderers would say they acted out of self-defense to make themselves seem less guilty. They can even murder, what’s stopping them from lying. Also the murderer’ depression comes from being arrested, it’s not the cause of the murder. He got away lightly. He placed the mat on the victim’s chest so the blood wouldn’t flow to the door and arouse suspicion. Funny of you to believe whatever the murderer has said as if ppl don’t lie.
I have seen this crime watch but have a doubt in my mind. Lately I have report a fraud crim to the police in Singapore. The fraud case is about using a false income document to cheat the bank loan. After I reported the authority still haven't taken any action to arrest that person even though we have provided the very useful evidence.
Sometimes they waiting for bigger fish then catch together like if they do it in a group then catch the leader. I'm not saying that's exactly why they haven't take action but it's a possibility.
To be 100% honest, if Ah Liangs story is true that "Jason" threatened him first, the actions were in self-defense. I think he was correctly charged still

When the murderers are caught, they always lie that they’re being attacked by the victim with a knife first.
