    Really good idea for planning. something that i think i lack in >.< usually have pages of scatter brained ideas. (typically lose them as well lol) thanks for the vid!

      Haha that's interesting. I'll do a brainstorm with words everywhere then convert that into an idea and chuck it into a macro design document.
      No problem! Thank you for watching :)

    Hello Matthew!
    Just watched this video, it was great! I really think methodology is key. I know you've moved on, but if you could make a video about the 5 pages Macro Design Document that you mentionned, it would be great. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge!

    Hey everyone! Today we have a look into Macro Design documents for game jams. Can you guess what games those example mechanics belong to?

    What is grass? Is it a mode? an affect?Do you need to put bones in the grass for them to be animated?

    Hey Matthew, would you happen to know how to parent a character to a moving platform so they don't fall off if the platform is moving too fast?
    Would it be possible to make the player a child to the platform with On trigger begin/end overlap events? That way the player will move, rotate, etc with the platforms movements AND speed, while still having their own controls.
    Right now what happens is the player gets thrown off the platform if moving horizontally or clips through it if it moves up or down too fast. The platform is basically a shortcut mechanic like the Taxi in Ratchet and Clank series, so it needs to go fast.
    Thank you.

    hello matthew, which shader and lightning settings do you use in that game?

  • @kennethguidie261
    @kennethguidie261 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Bionic Commando, Zelda, Just cause, Batman. Those are the only ones where I can think that you also use it for combat.

    • @MatthewPalaje
      @MatthewPalaje  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You were correct with Batman :)

      That's a great guess! I was expecting most people to write Zelda. I'm curios what others will come up with.

    the first character that you made, i felt like it fit into the game that i was making. the name of it is HeX, it's a dynamic puzzle game with a knight as the main character. i can draw some sort of reference image, but i can't model them. i need help, matt. i need help.

      Hey Cry! Unfortunately I may end up using that character in the end. I developed a simple character creation series, not sure if it will help but here it is: th-cam.com/video/vnLDSHeRG6s/w-d-xo.html
