Mr Romeike said they couldn't move to other European countries because of financial reasons, so was they funded to get to the US? I'm from England it is legal to home school here as it is in many countries, surely it would've been cheaper to go to a European country rather than the US? I hope you get to stay in the US though but remember there are plenty of European countries where you can home school so its not hopeless.
Trace and Lydia, you are in my prayers for the Memphis court to reopen the case, exclude Lydia and allow her to pursue citizenship. To the Romeike Family, you are all in my prayers and I'm believing that God will answer our prayers for you all and that our government will do the right thing and allow you to remain in America indefinitely. While I was watching this video my sons began to ask questions about the Romeike family. It quickly turned into a Civics lesson to start our homeschool day. 😊 I plan to show them later how to sign a petition and how to write to our congressman. We will also keep the whole family in our prayers. It all seems so unfair, but remember who has you safely in His hands and has a plan. ❤️

I just read that homeschooling is legal in Austria (a German speaking country), Ireland (an English speaking country) and Portugal (a very inexpensive place to live, and one with vibrant American and British communities). So I think there are options if staying in the US isn’t possible. But hopefully they will be able to stay in the US.

My son-in-law became a U.S. citizen after years of going through the immigration process. It cost him and my daughter tens of thousands of dollars and a lot of stress.

That’s crazy. My ex husband and I spent maybe less than $3000 for him to become a resident… and that’s including the fines he had to pay for overstaying his visa (he was a child when his parents brought him here so it’s not even fair that he had to pay it).
I’m assuming you all followed the rules and went through the process like you were supposed to. Her family has been here illegally for years. Supervised stay doesn’t mean legal.

If you think that Ron DeSantis is the best governor than you need to do more research. I mean he may help bc this is a white family. That man hates anyone who’s not white or straight. He doesn’t like teachers or healthcare workers.

Asylum should be prioritized when a person’s life is in danger.
Their lives weren’t in danger they were jut not living by German law. Now speaking as an immigrant myself from Europe I would’ve loved the education I received to be for my children born in the US myself but that wasn’t possible. My children were bullied here and I took them to counseling. They eventually finished school as private schools were not a financial option neither wa s homeschooling unfortunately. Today both of them re finishing up college thank God! But, it does all leave a mark on their souls. I hope your family can get through all this by the grace of God. Your wife and baby are beautiful, I may not agree with everything you all believe in but there’s one God and in him we must trust. By the way please be mindful of everything immigration says to you, it’s a long tough process with many, many laws and rules not to mention paperwork that costs so much time p, effort and patience not to mention financial costs for every little bit of progress made. Homeschooling is legal in Austria and they speak German. As a European citizen, you also had freedom of movement within the EU..
Just curious about when the family decided to leave Germany. Why did the family not choose to move to the U.K.? They were still part of the EU then and could move freely there. Home schooling is allowed in the U.K. and there would have been plenty of opportunities for the family to establish a good life without having to claim asylum in the USA?
Or Austria which also speaks German. Or Ireland which has very lax homeschooling regulations
They explained in the video that there was not time to move to the other counties and that they had been looking into those options when they were contacted about asylum in the US as a speedier option to keep their family together

Watching this video had me crying from beginning to end.😢 It just breaks my heart that as new parents & as grandparents to their 1st grandchild, you all are being forced to live in such fear as to what will happen in only 9 days. I feel so much anger & such a heavy sadness for you, as this is a time where all of you should be living in pure newborn bliss 24/7 with your biggest worry being how much sleep your going to get between overnight feedings & who is going to change the next poopy diaper.🤱🏼👶🏻👨🏻🍼
(😉FYI: I even sent an email to the HSLDA letting them know that their sample letter states that you guys just had a daughter! Likely not a big deal & I changed my letter a tad to make it a little more personal, but Mr. Ryker💙 needed to be properly referenced to!)

It was so nice to hear from your father in law about how they were treated in Germany about anything that their so called government wanted to do to them. Thank you Trace for helping give them a voice cause what Germany is doing is so wrong but they don't care about anyone else who wanted to homeschool their kids.

The Germany government do care a lot. Public school is for free and you have free Christian schools. How nice it is that the government provide good education for everyone: the poor, the ill, the big and the small family’s.
You don’t know what people are teaching at home, or maybe they don’t teach anything at all. Homeschool isn’t always a good and safe option.
Was forbidden, because they were scared, that after WWII the nazis would reorganize and push an ideology onto their kids.
For example the duggars and how they homeschooled their kids, basically depriving them of an actual education.
And what is „so called government“ supposed to mean?

I think it important to understand that the term "indefinite" does not necessarily guarantee anything permanent. It simply means an unspecified amount of time. Immigration authorities can decide to put a fixed date on deferred action status at any point and they should have made it clear to this family from the get-go. I hope they get things sorted out. No doubt, it's a stressful time for them all, as it is for anyone seeking asylum in this country.
If they have open borders they shouldn’t make them leave when millions are crossing over from the borders

@@deed421 unfortunately it’s a little more complicated than that. Reality is that it doesn’t matter if they overstayed their welcome and have anchor babies. They are lawfully being told their time is up and they have been ordered to self-deport. It would really be a horrible testimony as a Christian family to disobey the most recent orders for deportation. They have consequences they will need to face in Germany for not obeying the law there, and as Christians they will hopefully make things right once they are back home in Germany. There is absolutely no reason anyone in Germany needs asylum, hence the reason the United States government is putting their foot down. It’s unfortunate that they will have to uproot the family when they go back to Germany, but that’s a risk they were willing to take when they decided to flee legal action against them in Germany. I’m praying that they obey the government’s orders, thus honoring God by obeying those in authority over them during their deportation process.

Families had to fight for the right to homeschool.
Come into the country via traditional immigration. Don’t use asylum laws inappropriately. That goes for anyone. The homeschool law has been that way since 1919 in Germany. It isn’t a new law by any means

Ive followed this since Glenn Beck followed and publicized their initial move here. Have u contacted him for help? Publicity will help. Ive written and signed the petition. Not sure it will help as I live in a 100% Dem city and state. When you write you might want to invoke that Pres Obamas administration was the initial approver of this plan.

I homeschooled in the early 80s when it wasn’t as popular as it is now. People were always asking why our children were not in school and they threatened to call the police. We were pretty much underground, but we never were harassed to that level. Praying for all of you ❤️💜

To be honest I was asking those same questions so thank you for clarifying what the family have been told over the years. It’s totally wrong for the government to uproot the family with no reason. Makes no sense. Hopefully your lawyer and your state representatives can stop the deportation process.
