When I first started working retail one of the older ladies training me said “everyone should be required to work 6 months of retail after they graduate high school, the world would be a much better place” and at the time I didn’t get it but after 6 months i knew she was 100% right.
@@misabelrodriguez1163 As a retail employee, I will explain. In retail you deal with the public every day and you see the best and worst of all of us. And because of that, you have to learn incredible patience because you can’t lose your temper or you’ll get fired so if everyone had to work retail for six months, they’d be a lot better at controlling their emotions and being patient with other people.
@@Noelhogan333food service/customer service both kinda fill that same role as retail in that you really do learn to be more patient with people and more understanding of how things work
Yes even though I like Amy's actor but other characters are a lot more fun than Amy and I don't think it's that big an affect to the show without her character. The best part of the show are other characters
@@tankee5722 ikr, yes amy was great and the actress is funny, but this show had so much more to offer, plus the fact that Dina was always amazing and hilarious in every scene
the only thing I miss about working in retails are the co workers. not the job. not restocking. not serving customers. not swiping cards. not counting thousands of dollars that is not mine everyday. not the boss. just the co workers.
I currently work at my local grocery store. You just described me except I have a good relationship with my boss personally. I've only been working 4 months.
Agree. I love all my coworkers and everybody gets along really well. I think it's the bond we have from working such bad conditions. Some of my ex coworkers have become some of my best friends and I keep in touch with them to this day.
When I was 18 I worked in a jeans shop. About 5 times a day someone would walk in and say “I just want a pair of NORMAL JEANS!” And then I’d start to ask a bunch of questions and they’d roll their eyes and say something like “just normal jeans, don’t you know what normal jeans are?” The thing is, every single person who asked for “normal jeans” walked out with a completely different style of jeans. Men over 50 generally wanted a pair of Levi’s 501s. Women over 30 wanted bootcut, women over 40 wanted “mom jeans” (this was 2005). Women under 30 didn’t shop at our store because we didn’t carry skinny jeans yet, which were the new trend. But not all people bought jeans according to their age group, and would get very offended if you made wrong assumptions. And then there is a whole conversation about what a “normal colour” of jeans is. Everyone’s idea of normal varied wildly.. and that is a good life lesson I took from retail.
Same experience as a barista! A few people a week would stand at the till saying in exasperated tones that they JUST WANT A COFFEE IS IT THAT HARD? Sme wanted an espresso, some wanted an Americano, some wanted filter coffees and some wanted Lattes! Took the same good lesson to be patient with people - but also to always be polite and specific to other people in service industries because they see everyone's 'normal' and can't anticipate yours.
Fun video...great show...but there is nothing...NOTHING that could EVER make me miss working in retail!!! The only thing about working in retail that I have fond memories of is the moment I left after my very last shift!
I work retail. A woman handed me a pair of jeans she wanted to buy. I took it, not really paying attention. Because of that I noticed the big fat spider sitting on the arm of the woman too late. Spider promptly scurried from her, up my arm. When I shook that thing off, having nearly a heart attack, the woman stared at me like I was insane. Apparently that was a normal occurrence for her.
Of course, humanity doesn't need cure for diseases, end of war (Ukrainian here) and terrorism, we just need a bloody sitcom, hahaha. Less pathos please...
When I worked in retail, I had an assistant manager who was very similar to Dina. Weird hobbies and all. One time she chased a guy who was stealing merchandise from the back of the store all the way out into the parking lot. Didn't catch him though.
Why would this show make you miss working retail? It's a hilarious show, but even if something funny happens in a retail job, it's not usually ha-ha funny.
I still have no idea the context behind Sandra’s rise up posters, and I don’t care to know until I get up to that episode Everytime I see it in a video I am very confused but intrigued
Best carractors Dina and Glenn 2 n's, Dina and Garret the lost birds (Come back Russel Crow) Dina's song they played at the hospital when she gave birth, clown song 😂. Bo for $20,000 you can shove what ever where ever in the both of us.
@Pacvalham I sorted by newest as well. You don’t need to be the one to give out awards to people. Just leave it and move on. It’s stupid at this point.

Dina's surgery scene where she plays her favourite song (carnival music) kills me every time
no seriously the first time i saw it i was crying laughing 😭
It's actually so in character for her to love it. The real purpose for the piece is far from "carnival music."
Everyone who worked in retail makes the exact same vow to never work in retail again.
