Only the first 10 minutes were recorded with the GoPro. Due to the cold weather the battery has issues and it stops recording. But this video gives good insights into the race lines and driving techniques in these weather conditions, especially in the first laps with cold tyres.
Qualified&finished in top 6: Martin Albers, Zantvoort/Mulder Racing, VRG Racing Team, De Onderwatertjes and Bolle Jongens (+OKT1).
I started p4 on the grid.
In the first laps you see me battling&collaborating for p3 with mostly Martin Albers. Unfortunately due to some backmarkers in lap 4 already, slipping and spinning in the corners while we are overtaking, I lost my bumper-to-bumper connection and slipstream benefit and got behind.
After that it was my own race for the next hour (stint 1), which I could maintain with a p3 position and 28+seconds gap behind me for p4.
Due to the changing weather and track conditions throughout the race we lost our benefit of the kart and felt back to 5th position. It was a very existing race end, as in the last 5 minutes we were still p3 and were defending against p4 and p5 who catched up. But the kart differences in the conditions end of the race were too big (1+s per lap), so that is not feasible to keep up for another 5 full laps. We are happy with the p5, for now. Next time podium? :)
