Many of chameleon paints need a glossy black primer. Quite often a gloss primer is advised underneath a metallic. Why is a matt black primer the advised method ? Just primed a big model in gloss black as undercoat for a paint job with one of these gold pigments. Should I add some matt primer or is it not that big of a deal ?
@@greenstuffworldOK. So it is more about adherence. Would you advise a coat of matte varnish or matt primer if a piece is already covered with gloss primer ?
I have some of the antique gold pigment powder and it gives a great shine . After leaving it to dry i tried to apply agrax earthshade but noticed that the paint was being rubbed off . Im assuming thats not meant to happen ?
can i made a full bottle with gold metal pigments and master medium (17ml) with agiator balls for better storage/usage or is it a must to mix it only before painting?
Hey could you ask one of your pro painter friends to paint up a custodes with those Gold colours? i would do it lol, but i can't get them in germany. And i really want to see how a custodes looks like in this gold colour. plus, how shading works with so intense colours.
I mixed it with master medium, when I painted there is no problem. But after the paint dries, the pigment seems separated and it looks bad. What did I do wrong? Also when I left the mixed paint there, the pigment also start separating very quickly.
The results are really stunning, congrats for this new product! I was wondering: are you planning to release them (along the glow pigments) as pre-mixed paints? I reaaaly want to use them but I'm scared of messing up the medium/pigment ratio and cloggingup my airbrush.
This looks like a very interesting new product. Question: should the painted surface be sealed with a varnish once dry or can it withstand being handled?
If you want effects such as washing, weathering and so on...we recommend using gloss varnish on top. If you only want the metallic effect, it is not necessary.
You'll generally get a smoother result with these. These are just metallic mica pigments. Other companies make these as well and they just work differently. I'd recommend picking up a few to try em out.
These blow Metallica away if you want the raw look of metal. Copper looked like a piece of real copper. The mirror finish on those large flat pieces was like a mirror.
Okay, these pigments are made of the real metal. You put a wet brush (soaked in an acrylic medium which probably contains water) in the bottle. Isn't that a quick way to corrode this pigment?
So far, none of the evidence we have from months ago has had any rust. When you use a medium you "encapsulate" the metal particles, preventing corrosion. Although you can use an oxide accelerator, if you want to imitate rust.
Is there anything you don’t make. If I had the money I’d buy 1 of everything. Hands down best most versatile products on the market.
Looks nice! Do you plan to release steels and silvers also?

For some types of pigments, a matt primer is recommended, so that the pigments adhere much better.

Always looking for good new true Metallic paints. looking forward to 3rd party reviews on this.

If you are going to do effects on top, we advise you to varnish everything first.
Are there any USA based retailers for GSW products like these?
Hello !! No, we do not have any at the moment.

You can add our steel agitator balls to all your paint bottles.
El médium que se usa, es el mismo material que el contrast médium de citadel?
No, es nuestro propio medium, formulado especialmente por nosotros.
@@greenstuffworld pues me va hacer falta que ya tengo en casa el pigmento de oro viejo 😉

You may have used too much master medium. You should use as little as possible.
@@greenstuffworld thanks, let me try that.
Tiene muy buena pinta .Son estables al secar o hay que darles una capa de protección?
Secan y son estables, pero si deseas añadirle efectos de envejecido, se recomienda una capa de barniz brillante encima.
Hi guys, I love these things - any plans for silver versions?
Does anyone know where the models from the first half of the video are from?
On our website!
Awesome !!!
Any plans to manufacture a silver version of this product?
At the moment we have not found anything similar in silver. :(

They will be launched in this format only, because it is the most versatile for different uses.
pues tienen buena pinta, voy a tener que pedir estas y las luminiscentes que estan curiosas
So them being made from metal, do they rust or corrode in any way? Also is it possible to just wash, glaze and paint over them normally?
Yes, they can rust like any metal. Once varnished, you can apply any effect you wish.
I cringe when you put the wet paintbrush into the bottle of pigment.
But the results are amazing. Is there a chrome version?
We are working on it!

Thanks for the clarification. 👍
Por que mezclas médium al metalico?
sirve como soporte para que se quede adherido a cualquier superficie, asi de sencillo :)
@@greenstuffworld osea que glasea la pintura y al mismo tiempo le da adherencia con la resina que lleva.
What do you mean that they are made of real metals? Is for example gold pigment made of real gold?
It is not real gold, but it is real metal. ;)
They looks great... There are no chrome/iron/aluminium pigments?
We will have something much better!
looks awesome but, what is the practical benefit of these over a metallic paint?
They can be mixed with paint, acrylic and non-acrylic media, resins, varnishes, etc... and the quality of the gloss is perfect.
