This shows exactly why half Saiyans have so much latent potential. The fact that they are more emotionally in tune with themselves makes them capable of tapping into their Saiyan genes immensely tremendous power. Also as he was crying out it sounded like a mix of Oozaru was in his voice so it makes sense why they get their Saiyan potential from their emotions
@Kryptoskillet yes but I pointed out that using emotions is what brings out their inner latent power. As Goku showed here. I didn’t even say he was a half Saiyan but pointed out why half Saiyans grow much more powerful than full Saiyans
@@kryptoskillet1131 well he did it when first introducing Gohan to show how he can tap into his true potential which Goku only does in times of great need whereas a half Saiyan can do it with their emotions which pure Saiyans suppress so they focus more on battle than anything else. Free advice, Freeza: if you ever meet the author of that sound and want him dead for whatever reason, just kill him, don't kill his best friend first for laughs, and also don't call anybody you kill for laughs something like "that little bald guy." I guarantee that if you fail to follow this advice, you'll be hoping said author of that sound beats their own rage on their own even when you'd want to call them "just a monkey."
Scenes like this make me believe that Gohan don't didnt get his "rage power" from just being half human half Saiyan. Goku kind of always had that himself. You look at his most powerful moments and they have really almost always followed rage/grief
I like to think that if Toriyama already had the idea of Super Saiyan transformation figured out at this moment, this would've been Goku's first awakening. This whole scene mirrors Gohan's SSJ2 perfectly! Anyway, can't wait to see this scene on dokkan next week!
@@ChrisAtheist oh i didn't know that. Dang that's kind of a missed opportunity then. He should've definitely have turn SSJ here, since it's not canon anyway, might as well go all out!

I like the fact that even though they have Dragonballs and can wish them back, every death in the series (minus DBS, where the deaths had little to no gravity. Geez, even DBGT’s deaths at least made me feel sad or tear up a bit) makes you feel the gravity in the death and the character or characters reactions make it feel more real and heartbreaking and sometimes have the effect to make you forget for a moment that there are Dragonballs. I remember that every death in DB - DBZ made me cry. I cried when YAMCHA died in the Saiyan Saga and dont even get me started on Choutzu (have no idea how to spell him name) and Piccolo’s sacrafices. I wish that we could have more gravity and tension in DBS but we dont,we’re just like, “Time to get the Dragonballs” or “Well, Goku’s here so everything will be fine”.
@@wyattw7858 But wasn't Android 8 seen giving energy to Goku's spirit bomb in the kid Buu battle after Earth was destroyed and everyone was brought back to life? That either implies Eighter can be revived by the dragon balls or that he's somehow able to survive the destruction of the planet. That then begs the question of why didn't 16 get revived at the end of the Cell Games but to be honest the most likely answer is that Toriyama and Toei Animation forgot Android 8 was completely mechanical
I can 100% feel his pain, I lost my mother two years ago and my first dog two months ago, both times i just screamed in agony and pure pain, as if my limba are getting ripped apart.
Frieza-(Gasp)softly:"I sense something surging within the universe." Zarbon-"what is it, Lord Frieza?" Dodoria-"is something wrong?" Frieza-"I'm quite fine, you two. This is why I like watching dragon ball it actually makes me feel his pain and sorrow. The emotions this show made me feel as a kid and still now. Truly amazing.
I never understood why they made this awesome "reboot" film of dragon ball and then didn't just continue then. I wish they'd done like 3-4 more to go through the rest of the saga's-it would've been really awesome.
@@Deathmare235 Yeah that's what I wish we'd got. Like 2 probably would've been Tien and all that, and additionally as Master Roshi pretty much said that Tien would be like his future replacement (and even DBS he has the dojo, despite how they didn't really follow up on that story post OG). Then King Piccolo, then Piccolo Jr, still grandpa gohan somewhere in there, basically like you said "eighters death" it was a huge highlight of "path to power." Like hint at them being aliens, with more alien dialoque and Piccolo Sr's "abominations" being explained to be just that, and the "super namekian" thing also could be explained more. Sadly I wouldn't trust this in the modern day with how they treat the series with DBFighterZ animation for a film and literally 3/4 of DBS.

Those lines "No. Don't go away..." and "That's what really happend to you, right, grandpa? When you said you had to go?" really hit me and made me realize that I had never completely worked through the emotions from those times.
So much epic ness and foreshadowing in this one scene it’s the fact that we know the power he will possess in a few decades and that even the gods will respect it
This movie, Path to power came out after z ended. Z ended in 1995. This movie came out in 2003. It’s not foreshadowing plus toriyama had nothing to do with this movie
this scene's crazy. kid goku's VA did an amazing job packing the scream with emotion and impact, but it's definitely not goku's usual brand of Righteous Anger-it feels more like just grief than anything. he kills the guy but it doesn't feel like a victory, the sky's still dreary and he goes right back to crying because he's just now grasping the concept of mortality. it's good in a way you don't really expect from the original series (it's a movie but whatever), and definitely up there with some of the stuff we see in Z.

@Wise Man you have no room to talk. Based off your other comments all you can do is run your mouth. Bet when push comes to shove youre nothing but a sniveling pathetic child.
Is it not GT
@@asimperinglittleman5728 This is Dragonball, not GT
Thx for all the best moments of my childhood Sensei Toriyama. You will never forget
The only anime so far where when characters breaks down into fits of rage and grief you genuinely feel it
Gintoki rage in "Gintama" was close tho

You should watch made in abyss(Japanese dub)
One of those holy grail moments. You can feel his pain.
This is one of my favorite moments in all of Dragon Ball. It’s an absolutely *epic* Kamehameha, with a lot of emotion behind it after this version of Goku lost a friend for the first time. Great scene.
Never a wise choice in pissing a alien child off to the point where he could rip you apart.
so true.... ESPECIALLY when he has 2 different names XD
lol
Case in point, Brightburn
I found this moment tragically sad and powerful the way Goku responds. It's what made me watch all of Dragonball.
This scene is how I really got into dragon ball. My grandpa had died, and I didn't know how to feel or how to express how I felt. When I found this video, it resonated with me and made me burst into tears.
Thank you for making me who I am now, Akira Toriyama. Rest in peace 🙏🏾😞
Every villain: I Know, I'll just kill one of Goku's friends. That'll piss him off.
Goku: New power level, new transformation, 3 episode charge to full power attack
Every Villain: :O
Very true lol but the same could be said for most shonen
lmao the villains are so stupid,, like wtf you see how strong he is now? you're literally emotionally powering him to destroy the whole planet in rage
😂😂
It's in almost all Shonen so I don't see your point, it's dumb. Yusuke against Toguro, rings a bell. ??
at least in OG dragonball nobody knows of saiyan thing
That scream is so raw and real- god it breaks my heart.
this hits harder now, RIP TORIYAMA
I never met Akira Toriyama in person - for me, he is just a random Japanese guy, but when I had the news that he passed away, something deep in my soul broken apart, so I feel the same way as little Goku at that precise moment 😢
You feel the goosebumps from this, the crying, the pain and frustration in the voice while building that kamehameha
@@kryptoskillet1131gokus not a heartless monster like most saiyans though
@@kryptoskillet1131 well he did it when first introducing Gohan to show how he can tap into his true potential which Goku only does in times of great need whereas a half Saiyan can do it with their emotions which pure Saiyans suppress so they focus more on battle than anything else.
Also they’re called sagas not arcs. This isn’t DBS *Blech*
@@kryptoskillet1131 nope. Arcs are not the grouping of sagas but the beginning and end of an event to the story. The same as a saga but we don’t use DBS terms here. That’s trash garbage talk
@@kryptoskillet1131 DBS isn’t even as good as DB Evolution in my opinion. In fact they deserve to be put into the same category
So underrated I’m glad this moment is getting praise. That voice acting, the emotion, and the scream of the kamehameha was amazing🔥
Frieza: I don't know what that sound is...but it sounds like someone got dropped as a child and forgot his memory....
Damn, why am I crying right now?
That line about Grandpa Gohan...I remember feeling like this when my mom passed.
Scenes like this make me believe that Gohan don't didnt get his "rage power" from just being half human half Saiyan. Goku kind of always had that himself. You look at his most powerful moments and they have really almost always followed rage/grief
Pain and sacrifice are the limit breakers for goku’s bloodline.
Bad guy: that technique doesn't work anymore remember.
Kid goku: KAMEHAMEHAAAAAA
BAD GUY: OH SHIT
And your son was like that too huh?
I agree son Goku.
One of the most powerful Kamehameha’s we ever done.
I like to think that if Toriyama already had the idea of Super Saiyan transformation figured out at this moment, this would've been Goku's first awakening. This whole scene mirrors Gohan's SSJ2 perfectly!
Anyway, can't wait to see this scene on dokkan next week!
Woo hoping for best tur in game
This movie was basically a remake of DB this movie came out after DBZ ended
So basically even SSJ 3 already existed
@@ChrisAtheist oh i didn't know that. Dang that's kind of a missed opportunity then. He should've definitely have turn SSJ here, since it's not canon anyway, might as well go all out!
Actually it makes sense that he didn't. He was too weak, tired, and young at the time to be able to handle the strain and drain that would of come with the first transformation.
@@sigma--boss7098 I admire the restraint. The moment is kind of already goofy on its own with the whole sky beam stuff. It's a goofy scene juxtaposed with good VA and dialogue work. The sky beam...the chorus...the cliff literally crumbling apart and falling into the ocean is uh...a bit much.
Can you even blame dbs for being the way that it is? I mean it takes place in between the ten year time skip so we already know that everyone's okay
Dragonballs cant wish machines back to life cause they have no soul, i mean look at 16, he aint back to life after being completely destroyed by cell
At least there’s erasures in super
I can 100% feel his pain, I lost my mother two years ago and my first dog two months ago, both times i just screamed in agony and pure pain, as if my limba are getting ripped apart.
The pain in those screams... hits me so hard every time
Especially when you're going through hard times in your life
this is the best Kamehameha ever
Not...even....close
Switchblade Killingsworth watch it with vegeta's music and youll see
Trunks oh yes. i know.
No. It had a good build up and launching the kamehameha itself was very good but it had very little physical impact.
Nigga please
I always like this voice of kid goku/Gohan. Rather than the new ones they use.
The new one is hot garbage
Never understood why people prefer Colleen as Kid Goku and Kid/Teen Gohan tbh.
Whew I can’t stomach the new one .. whole reason why I won’t watch one piecw
Sabat throw Naldony from their studio like how they throw Broly's voice actor.
R.I.P Akira Toriyama! I had to watch this after hearing of your death. You will be missed!
this was such a good movie
Frieza-(Gasp)softly:"I sense something surging within the universe."
Zarbon-"what is it, Lord Frieza?"
Dodoria-"is something wrong?"
Frieza-"I'm quite fine, you two. Just focus on finding the next planet"
Dodoria and Zarbon-"Yes, My Lord!!"(as they work on two computers searching for more planets)
-and there it was, the fear.
Man I miss Stephanie's voice acting
Yes we do
The new VA is fine with Kid Gohan, but GT Goku and Teen Gohan will never be as legendary as Stephanie’s.
I stopped watching DB when they replaced her.
She put on a great performance in this scene
@@PikaLink91 honestly same, I only watch DB projects that have Stephanie in them, the current va can't match that
Rest well, Toriyama.
Fly free, and fly true. 😢
This is why I like watching dragon ball it actually makes me feel his pain and sorrow. The emotions this show made me feel as a kid and still now. Truly amazing.
When you realize a robot is more kindhearted and loyal than most people in real life
2:48 this is the first Super Kamehameha ive ever seen when Goku learns a Super big Kamehameha without SSJ.

Well with Goku he actually developed a friendship for Android 8. Gohan never really befriended Android 16, but he was saddened by his death.

False super sayain?
It could have been that if he was powerful as that then
And the electricity at 2:29.
Or that could just be his hair flowing naturally
Super saiyin wasn’t a concept yet.
1:00: In DBS, every noob fighter would immediately reach SSJ3 with such a rage.
I never understood why they made this awesome "reboot" film of dragon ball and then didn't just continue then. I wish they'd done like 3-4 more to go through the rest of the saga's-it would've been really awesome.
Just then doing Piccolo jr saga and maybe every movie they have something that differs from the main plot like eighter’s death
Can you imagine what Goku vs Ma Junior would have looked like with THIS power scaling?
man this is so epic. i get chills from watching it, db/dbz is so good at really drawing you in especially with the loss of characters in the show. also their screams are by far the best out of any anime.
Broooo. The animation for this movie is so clean. The Ki rising was awesome. If only Goku DID go SSJ during this. His power is freaking amazing.
But people say dragon hall has no emotional moments
Ah yes dragon hall favorite show
they mean super, which is true.
@@13bloodwolf21 super has emotion.

Og db and Saiyan Saga was full of emotions.

Tien's last stand , Piccolo fully turning to good , chaotzu's sacrifice.
Still makes me shed a tear to this day.
Goodbye Akira Toriyama, thank you so much for your loving creation and the stories you told and the heroes you made rise from pen and paper. Your touch on this world will forever be enjoyed by generations current, and future. May you find rest in the afterworld with the kai's.
He had a taste of the gods at a young age

3:30 man this will always give me the chills
This Animation work is so incredible ! His kamehameha l, how it's spin's and goes into his hand. and the blue Aura. Damn.
I wanted Goku to recognize 16 as having a connection to 8
Rare Moment Where Goku Actually killed Someone and doesn’t regret it
DragonBall Super need more serious and raw emotions like this scene for it to be consider good in my books. This was pure gold
Imagine THIS is when Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan for the first time.
Hearing the pain and sorrow in kid Goku's voice as he cried out from the death of his friend honestly made me remember what I felt when both my great grandmother and my beloved pet passed away. Those lines "No. Don't go away..." and "That's what really happend to you, right, grandpa? When you said you had to go?" really hit me and made me realize that I had never completely worked through the emotions from those times.
The second time he started those anguished screams I felt like I was almost going to tear up a bit, good job voice actor I don't know the name of.

Who’s here after this man is getting a DFE
The moment beerus felt a chill in his spine
And be like Whis I think we have to move
So much epic ness and foreshadowing in this one scene it’s the fact that we know the power he will possess in a few decades and that even the gods will respect it
This movie, Path to power came out after z ended. Z ended in 1995. This movie came out in 2003. It’s not foreshadowing plus toriyama had nothing to do with this movie
Imagine he went super saiyan
The emotion is there, the anger is there, the trigger is there, missed opportunity
Came back to this after seeing the active skill in global dokkan 💀💀God, why did they go with the new voice actress...
Who’s here after hearing Stephanie back in the Daima trailer
No gonna lie, i fan boyed and made a scene at work. Was watching the English Trailer during my lunch break.
26 year old movie, and still more well animated and better voice acting those most modern anime!
"That's what happened to you grandpa Gohan, when you said you had to go" alright, who tf is cutting onions
I like to imagine that in that moment, Goku was *this* close to going SSJ but his body couldn't handle it
this scene's crazy. kid goku's VA did an amazing job packing the scream with emotion and impact, but it's definitely not goku's usual brand of Righteous Anger-it feels more like just grief than anything. he kills the guy but it doesn't feel like a victory, the sky's still dreary and he goes right back to crying because he's just now grasping the concept of mortality. it's good in a way you don't really expect from the original series (it's a movie but whatever), and definitely up there with some of the stuff we see in Z.
This boy is coming to Dokkan soon and he is gonna be the small boy who defeats the giant menace that is Cell Max
This was literally me after I received word that Toriyama had passed away
