- Behold! Today we are building Megumin! Foremost among the Crimson Demons and she who commands Explosion magic!
quick note: you may notice that this video is formatted slightly differently from the previous two videos. That's because this was actually the first video that I made in this series, as a sort of proof-of-concept to myself to get an idea of what I needed to do. I thought about redoing it to match the other two but eventually decided to leave it as-is. I hope you enjoy!

Since according to Tasha’s cauldron of everything you can reflavor your spells to work as the wizards knowledge would allow them you could reflavor meteor storm and make it so that rather than raining down from the sky you can just make it so they explode of out the ground in a massive explosion since the only requirement is that it can’t change the type of damage you can do.
I've seen Delayed Blast Fireball serve as Explosion; the delay is her long free-verse chant. But Meteor Swarm has more oomph! and a bigger effect.
Also, collecting Giant Toad stomach juice for Acid Splash is an inspired choice.
I actually hadn't thought of DBF from that angle, but it does make sense. I still prefer Meteor Swarm though, like you said it's a bigger blast. Plus since it's ninth level she only gets one cast per day whereas DBF could get 3 if it's upcast
@@Dragonfly9078 Make her a Wizard maybe? Use Contingency to cast "Hold Person" on herself after she finishes casting Delayed Blast Fireball to get the "One and done" Effect
@@BlitzAce987 that's hilarious, and wonderfully in keeping with the Konosuba crew's general incompetent competence.
Wait if she's doing it on purpose does that mean she's only doing it to get Kazuma to carry her? Hmmm...
Something of note is that I'm about 40% sure megumin doesn't actually need the chant for her explosions. And I'm about 60-70% sure that the chant being unique adds power to the spell itself. I don't remember where i heard this so obviously take it with a grain of sand
I'd certainly believe that it was all just her being dramatic, especially since we see her trying to come up with a new chant. On the other hand though, Wiz does the original chant when they attack the destroyer together so it's unclear
@@Dragonfly9078 considering megumin and wiz were trying to cast explosion at the same time that's likely why they both used the standard chant
In the mobile game Konosuba Fantastic days Megumin actual does use elemental potions to replace magic so it seems she’s willing to use anything she can get her hands on as long as it’s not consider a spell slot magic casting so, maybe giving her the ability to brew such potions with Alchemist supplies would be a good idea?

For reference, Meteor Swarm hits approximately 800 5x5 grid squares and deals an average damage of 148, counting Empowered Evocation and Elemental Adept.
You know, i knew it would be a lot, but i'm somehow still surprised by it hitting 800 squares

@@Ubermensch9240 I guess if you're concerned about such trivial things as "being effective in combat" and "contributing to the party" but when has that ever been a concern for Megumin?
@@Dragonfly9078 She is also proficient in explosion spells and there are plenty. Some are literally described as an explosion.

What skills would be best to pick up on the Sorcerer?
Arcana is a must, magic is Megumin's whole thing, then I'd say Intimidation so she can bully Kazuma and Yunyun into doing what she wants.
Well actually Megumin has higher strengh than Kasuma. So i would swap dex and str around.
Fair enough. She doesn't really use either for anything, so I made Dex slightly higher to avoid having a penalty to AC, but if you'd like to make her Str higher that's perfectly reasonable

Sorry, no. She doesn't do aoe fire damage when she casts explosion, and all the konosubas have a dip into celestial sorcerer thanks to aqua
