King Arthur is said to have ruled post-Roman Britain between the 5th and 6th century. The catastrophic battle at the end of Arthur's rule was allegedly against Anglo-Saxon invaders (basically Germanic settlers from mainland Europe).
Lucky for us then that Saber is based off of the more fantasy orientated Arthurian Legends, in all their anachronistic glory, rather than the historical Arthur that the 19th and 20th century historians conjured into being, because instead of beautiful, selfless and chivalrous paladin who ruled Camelot and wields a magic sword we'd instead have some grimy Dark Age Roman figure.
This episode was the perfect example of why arteria annoys me she always contradicts herself saying she is no different than any other civilian bit to then says she can't be like normal people. And the trying to force her own ideals on others like she knows better than them when she is the only one who actually failed as a king out of the three of them. And this one is for later on but I'll still say it while I'm at it the belief that she can never be wrong thinking her opinions are fact. (rant done)
Do not think of her britain as the same as modern britain. Her kingdom fell because of a magnitude of multiple wrong decisions. Like choosing the wrong people, having no heir to take over after her death and so on. Aside from that the Arthur legend is basically a copy of the germanic legend of the sword in the tree. The grail part of the arthur legend is later christianization, similar happened to the germanic one, but it changed names and is less well known. Saint Georg the dragon slayer or so.
Iskandar for me here is bullshiting his argument a lot, and Arturia is uneasy because of plot... Yeah a king leads by example, and what do you think the example of a nigh-invencible warrior that saves the powerless would look like, like a pretty chivarlous and "trying to save eachother" country xd
Warning maybe a spoiler for you. But there a detail in Iskandar Noble Phantasm, inside the reality Marble. there a easter egg in the line up of heroes inside that reality marble. between 14:36 to 14:50 the long black hair guy. It El Melloi The II (AKA adult Waiver) It bit like in Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Work were a heroic spirit can be summoned from the past present and future. Waiver make with iskandar a pack and then become one of many hero who have join, The Reality Marble. So even Iskandar Noble Phantasm transent time and space.
think its important to note that while saber takes it as mad nonsense when gilgamesh states the grail is his as all treasures originate from his treasury and that he has many holy grails it is not a lie or madnes in ancient babylonia at the time of gilgamesh life every treasure on the planet was collected in his vault(the physical vault in which his golden gates connect to) and all treasures(including many weapons of other heroes in legends) are either cheap copies of the stuff in his vault or stolen from his vault after his death the vault includes many holy grails on par with the holy grail that their fighting for the grail belongs to gilgamesh because from his prespective the grail is either 1 of the grails stolen from his vault or a copy based on something from his vault and as such its only natural it belongs to him
His power is literally "The Friends We Made Along the Way"

the battle of Camlann I think it's called where he and Mordred fought to the death.
