- Before the injection of Qatari money into PSG, Marseille were France's most successful football club, and they remain the only French team to have won either the European Cup or the Champions League.
And yet, OM are as synonymous with scandal and controversy as they are with Ligue 1 titles and European conquests.
So, in light of the departure of Andre Villas-Boas and a storming of the club's training ground, in this short documentary, HITC Sevens takes a look at Marseille's ownership situation, fan culture, and the latest crisis at one of Europe's most crisis-ridden clubs. - กีฬา

Love the content mate, I really like these video's exploring issues at some of Europe's biggest and most historic clubs. The in depth take on Marseille, Valencia and Schalke have been my favourite videos of yours to date, keep it up. Ligue 1, La Liga and the Bundesliga are diminished competitions without the aforementioned clubs being able to compete at the top.
Valencia and Shalke just had a very bad season. Marseille is rotten to the core.
Been Marseille 4 times visiting from the UK and never felt in danger at all. Great city to watch football and the atmosphere is easily one of the best in Europe. Going to watch Marseille in the year they won the title was special. Mamadou Niang was such a good player.

Marseille fan here, glad you made a video about us, overall pretty accurate, I could nitpick on some parts (like how most fans felt relieved that the League was stopped during covid because the team was getting worse and worse), all the stupid transfers and decisions Eyraud made, etc, but you can only say so much in 20min

Alfie - I'd love to see a video on the IFK Göteborg side of the early Champions League era, specifically the 92-95 seasons. Playing some serious heavyweights of European football (Barca, Man U, Milan), they held their own in those few seasons, even getting to the Champions League semi final group stage (it was a weird format back then), coming second only to Milan, but above PSV and Porto. Nilsson also scoring one of the most outrageous banana free kicks vs PSV.
They also beat a Cantona led Man Utd 3-1.
They also, with a certain Sven Göran Ericksson, won the 82 UEFA cup. Plus they won the 87 UEFA cup too.
I spent many a memorable summer night watching IFK with my Grandfather at the Ullevi stadium - thought it could be quite an interesting story for others to hear.
A number of that IFK team were also part of the national side that reached the Euro 92 and World Cup 94 semi finals, and were the no2 ranked team in the world at that point.
Not bad for a country with a population of 8 million (at the time)

Could you do a video on La Liga tactics and why they seem to struggle in Europe recently? Of all the La Liga sides to play this week of fixtures, only Granada and Villarreal won. And you could see a lot of the mistakes Seville made against BVB, Sociedad made against United.
Sociedad have really struggled in the last 2 months so it's not really a surprise that they got smashed by United. Real Madrid and Barca are a shadow of their former 2015-2018 days. Only Atletico's season looks promising. Valencia are also no where near the levels they were in the beginning of the century
2/5 isn’t bad when you consider who them sides were up against; Sociedad have fatigued and were playing against the team second in England. Sevilla-Dortmund was always going to be a close game and it was. Barca have been dusted since the 4-0 at anfield.

You forgot one very important point: Eyraud made a statement about the fact that "the club is employing too many people from Marseille", this was the beginning of this crisis. And some fans found out that Eyraud was a PSG fan. When a journalist gave an information about a club takeover from the Saudis, he sued him and asked him to delete his videos. The protests are all going towards him.

Its similar to Napoli in Italy and Liverpool in England - seen as a bit of a shithole by their countrymen. Although each city is actually pretty nice in certain areas and all very rich in culture.

I would love to see a reverse to this series. Looking at teams who are typically bad or average and have done things to turn their fortunes for the better. Even if it was only one season of success id love to have a deep dive into making a success story. It would make for some nice optimism, as the constant conspiracies, corruption and mismanagement deserve an antithesis.
