The common theme is of an older car of historical interest to be collectible and tend to be restored rather than scrapped. Great fun, I remember all these cars. Had a 79 Trans Am, bought used, 3 years old . Black on black, gold trim t tops, just like smokey and the bandit movie. Bought a 1986 FIERO SE, new. still have it. V6 se, red, loaded, stick shift. Bought a 94 Trans Am new, Still have it. Stil runs great. Thanks for putting these videos together.. also have my parents 58 cadillac they bought in 1960, still on the road, and my 68 Mustang I bought in 1977, in beautiful condition, on the road.

I normally can't stand commercials but these I can totally get into. The 4th gen Trans Am ones were the best, especially the last one where it eats the other car at the light, I'm pretty sure those ads had something to do with me buying one back then.

Financing a home back then was no picnic either, I heard interest rates in the early 80s were over 15%. It started to go down heading into the 90s, imagine someone hearing 10% and saying to themselves "that ain't too bad" haha.
