      A lot of people don't know my sarcasm so I thought I'd better put something there or cut it out LOL

    That pleated filter media looks just like my mom's living room drapes (from the '70s). :-)
    Nice video.

    Nice job doing a complete check. Always a great video thanks. Good find. To much hit and run or gas and go today.

      Being responsibly for your callbacks fixes that real quick. 😏

      I’m a one man company been at this 35 years so I like you have to cover all the bases the first time. I still miss things.

    Did you check the battery on the stat? Most of the time that's what it is

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure I follow what you mean? What do you think the T-stat caused?

    Awesome man I didn’t know about that capacitor trick any videos on how you wired that? Is it just hermz on one and fan on the other ?

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Capacitors in parallel will add up. Com to com, herm to the needed cap. Works with fans, or compressors.

    On a home 3 ton heil heat pump, should I measure lowside temp at blower near TXV or at outside unit to get my superheat? There's about 2-3F degree difference between inside and outside lowside, it was 95F outside? Thx, Love the channel.

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're on a home system and it has a TXV, generally you use subcooling to set the refrigerant charge. Normally the superheat is not adjustable on residential equipment, it is possible but not normally. If the instructions tell you to set it by superheat, then generally you set it based off the superheat at the condenser. This is unlike a walk-in cooler or freezer where you would normally set it at the evaporator. when in doubt follow the manufacturer's instructions.

    Hey Rick how can you easily tell that it’s an orifice system?

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Look in the blower compartment. These normally had a manifold of orifices. Otherwise you’ll see a TXV

    I was today years a old when I realized you could use the hole in the top of the unit to put your hoses through there 🤯

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      👍👍don't feel bad it took me a while to also figure it out 😊. Supposedly they give you something called a manual but I don't know what those are 🤣

    • @DetectingArizona
      @DetectingArizona 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right? I don't take those hose gauges up anymore though unless I'm charging. I use field piece probes.

  • @hvac97849

    Tight pleats are never a good thing, unless you increase your surface area.
    On another note,(transformer) some guys leave old parts behind to show that they have been replaced.
    Keep up the good work

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching👍👍 I personally prefer to write inside the panel and date what was replaced. The only things I will leave behind is blade style fuses and parts that might be needed for proof of replacement.

  • @lee-johnson
    @lee-johnson 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Never like seeing filters at both locations. Either put them at the unit or the return grille, not both.

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think the long run along with the high eff. filter being at the grill compounded the issue. (You never see those filters in a package unit normally. )🤦‍♂️

  • @donaldpainter956
    @donaldpainter956 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don't understand why techs leave old parts come on clean up behind yourself write on the door the date you replace the part that way anyone can tell what has been replaced and when it was replaced

      Sweet, your working on what I want to start doing more of. I been through Carriers chiller class twice but don't get much time on them because I have 3 or 4 other guys in front of me for those. I'm also doing some grocery store racks here and there.

      The people that reorder my parts have been really slacking lately, The closest supply house that might have had it would have been 45 minutes away. There's some things I don't have a lot of control over.
