    Talked to a guy who uses a LR MG5 as a taxi. He says range & efficiency is pretty good, & it drives & handles well. His main complaints were poor footwell space for rear passengers, lack of interior light at the back, & the rear seats do not fold down enough to provide a flat boot floor. HopefullyMG will get these minor issues sorted before it comes to the UK

    Another good facelift from MG. They appear to go through the TH-cam comments and act upon them.

    Test drove it today. Usually drive a VW Arteon. Well surprisingly the MG was pretty quick. And electric car is a pleasure to drive. To be honest getting back into my Arteon felt a bit dinosaurish... You don't by this car to go on long drives wich I realize my family (with now older kids 15 and 18) doesn't do anymore. Still leg support is shitty. The Arteon I drove from Sweden to Croatia a few times. It is an Autobahn monster. But I drive regularly in Stockholm and sometimes drives 3-5 hours. So I figured a two year lease on this one could be ok. Lastly the display etc is far from cool or expecially userfriendly. But I guess it is alright. You get used. Speakers were good enough. A little to much road sound when driving but ofc I compare with my Arteon. Again this MG is not for pumping long drives. Cheers!

    Nice facelift by MG, certainly a better looking car now. The original MG 5 has an odd driving position, not sure this can be sorted without a significant change to the body shell, this new one looks to be based on the same design but with new panels and interior. I’m sure this car will find an eager market here in the U.K.

    I’m still seriously looking at the smaller Zs model- which appears to be better miles for your money. Kia is great but it’s a lot of cash more to get from a to b ! Have j missed something.

    I think they should if they can put these wheels on the ZS EV as they look a lot better IMO

  • @EastbelgiumPhoto
    @EastbelgiumPhoto 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Battery sizes should be 60kWh for the small one and over 85kwh for the big one. Charging speeds should be over 125kW for the small one and over 150-175kW for the bigger one.

      It shouldn't

    • @gerardowen6030
      @gerardowen6030 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would add about £4000 to the cost

    • @EastbelgiumPhoto
      @EastbelgiumPhoto 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gerardowen6030 No that would lower the earnings for MG. All EVs are really expensive for not much range in the end. They could offer them at lower prices. But as people buy them they don’t need to reduce prices. Offer and Demand are not in balance… this has to change and it will change sooner or later.

      @@EastbelgiumPhoto my petrol car does 200mile per tank and my diesel does 400. My electric car does 200. The furthest I travel 360 days of the year is 50 miles a day. I've travelled 300 miles in a day a few times and it's not taken me longer than a 30 minute stop which I did for food and toilet anyway. Huge batteries and ranges are not needed. If you do 400 miles a day every day then keep your diesel

    looks good, great pricing!!!!
    but willing to pay like 2000€ more for somthing like 50km extra range
    315km real range is to low with baterij degradation this wil go down verry fast over time

    • @ronrubble
      @ronrubble 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Car has thermal battery management (liquid cooling). Expect low battery degradation compared to early EVs like the Nissan Leaf.

    • @paulcrs5342
      @paulcrs5342 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If liquid cooling is confirmed with less energy dense "small" LFP battery, battery degradation will be very low over time. + LFP handle better full charging than NMC...
