Dragons Rising really hit every check mark on the list. Not a single character, plot, or theme felt underwhelming or not well done. Man I love this season
@@KTWhatsup Jay is my favorite ninja and I will admit I was a little sad he wasn’t in the whole season, but I think it worked in the season’s favor so that it could flesh out other story points and didn’t have an unnecessarily large cast to work with.
Also till now when watching this video, I didn’t realize how perfect that Cole cared for Geo who was outcasted before since it’s a natural expansion and consequence of characters that were first introduced in Season 13 aka the only Cole focus season.
I love DR's side characters. If Sora never met Euphrasia, Arrakore, or Geo she wouldn't be who she is as of now. My fav side characters are Mr. Frohicky, Lobbo, and Arrakore Also Geode/Lostshipping and Windtech forever
The show *really* benefits from 22 minute episodes, its insane I'm really hoping we see more of these three in the future. Even small cameos would be nice. They definitely have potential!
I feel like geo's ability is closer to sticking stuff together with ultrahand. Regardless I agree completely that these new side characters are so good.
I find it dumb that some people hate DR just because some older side characters didn't show up If they were there they wouldn't have been relevant and would only have been there for dumb fan service Plus they're currently lost cuz of the merge so what were they expecting?
A lot of people blindly hate on the show because Tommy Andreason is gone. Don’t get me wrong, Tommy did awesome stuff for the show, but he was also responsible for many…questionable decisions to say the least. (Most of the writing team was actua against the love triangle, and Tommy was the only one who wanted it because he thought it would “attract the female audience”. The team also wanted Skylor to do her own thing before getting with Kai (since she was already cool on her own), but that also happened because of Tommy…yikes 😬)
People literly stopped watching the show because of new designs and say that s7 is the last good season and everything after is shit, despite s7 definitely not being as good as it's predecessors. That's pretty in line with the fandom, also alot of people just hate legacy characters and stuff like that.
@@gigikju9934Yeah,amd Tommy had a alternative ending for Crystalized which would have been SO cool (Lloyd defeats overlord, but then turns evil, then nya shows up to fight him with the other ninjas to save him),bur he didn't do it just do his characters can be happy, which, don't get me wrong,i get where he's coming from. But it's just hurts the story as a whole.
@@BirdDuck that would have been such a better ending!!!! I mean: 1. It would have been a great conclusion to Garmadon’s arc, because one of the hardest parts about being good is seeing good in other people. (Obviously to make this arc work Lloyd would have had to treat him with a lot more respect in prior episodes) 2. We’d actually get to see Garmadon AND Harumi learn that revenge _really_ isn’t the answer to everything, because it only made Lloyd turn into a “monster”! 3. Wouldn’t it be awesome to see the tables get turned for a chance? Lloyd is always the one trying to see the good in people (Harumi, Ice Emperor, etc), but now people have to see the good in him! 4. It’d be a new way to interpret the Golden Master prophecy, just like how defeating the overlord again was a new way to interpret the “final battle” prophecy. 5. Instead of sacrificing themselves (or their powers), my guess is that the ninja would have to use their dragon forms to stop Lloyd, which would be a nice callback to the balance theme No matter how you twist or turn it…Tommy’s first idea was just the objectively right decision.
What I love about The Last Djinn is that, on a first viewing, just seeing the name, a Ninjago fan would assume they are referring to Nadakhan, until of course, Arrakore is revealed
Imo Arrakore was the best side character introduced in dragons rising, not only did he have a really tragic backstory, he was a really likeable character that brought back nostalgia to nadakhans character and it was a good move making him a hero instead of a heartless manipulative djinn like nadakan was, all in all he was a great character
I like how sora learns from each side character in this season implying that she is the focus ninja of this season. That’s why at the end of season one she unlocks her true potential

Although I do like the side characters in dragons rising so far. One character in particular that felt underwhelming is euphrasia.
