This scene was mandatory to establish Ethan's morale compass - he doesn't kill for the cause, he kills to save other people. That was the biggest kill count in the whole movie in one scene.
Damn, you said it well. I know they keep drilling in this point if you follow the dialogue and plot but you worded it in a way that clicked something for me.
Most importantly, Ethan KILLS. He has guts to take lives of those who are a threat to innocents. Batman on the other hand is responsible for so many deaths just because he can't kill 1 person.
There's a nightmare sequence earlier that makes Ethan question how far he would go to succeed. It shows him killing an innocent person in order to complete the mission (the "Fallout" of saving the world). This scene is to show that he has not fallen that far. He is still a good person despite the bad things he has done.

I've never been wild about how the movies disgraced the character of Jim Phelps for Ethan Hunt, but one thing movies at least verbally lean in on was that the mission of the IMF (most of the time the world isn't in crisis during the films) is to make the bad guys put themselves in the traps: 'masks and Halloween'. They're not supposed to be the shoot-em-up problem solvers, and it actually takes LOADS of skills to do things that way, including knowing _exactly_ how to be lethal on every level in order to make sure that you can hold back. Ethan doesn't kill because it's usually better for the mission and because it lets him sleep better at night, not because he can't or because he's not great at it. He is.
The scene where he instantly shoots those guys though, Reminds me of "collateral 2004" TOM was a beast in this one make a point of watching it, it wont dissapoint 🔥🔥

The policewoman was great. She was so afraid and I felt it. It was really a tense and scary scene. Most of the movie I just want to be impressed by how cool a scene was.
Best thing about this movie is the sound design. Every time a gun is fired, you *feel* it, and driving the point home is the whooshing of air between the pillars as that motorcycle is driving down that hallway.
I figured it was all those "people" from a certain area of the world that finds it acceptable to invade a posh theater and castrate all the males and putting their genitals in their mouth..... No? Just waiters? No wonder Europe is in the shape it is. It's full of goldfish.
but he is always kind, it's just didn't show in the early Mission movie, Ethan Hunt is a human version of what Superman is, the unshakeable moral compass, and I think I rarely heard Ethan is swearing too, just like Caps said "language", fighting for justice and freedom in an American way

Women loved to be surprised; actually we all do. This is what women are actually attracted to long term in a man. The looks of a man matter little to them since they have so many men to choose from. If you want to attract, have sex & keep a beautiful woman always continue to surprise her. Even the smallest thing will do. They want something unusual. Remember they get plenty of free flowers, drinks, diners, vacations etc. Just find something different to do for them - anything. This is why the beautiful policewomen instantly fell in love with Ethan. Women also don't know this about themselves. Ask them. Watch TH-cam videos. They can't actually articulate what makes them "fall for" a man. I am telling you straight - do something different occasionally to surprise them. They will follow a man like this into a burning building to be with him.
Fallout is the best sequel to Mission Impossible franchise. Everything just fits, great story, great cast. This is what a perfect action movie should look like

Love this scene, but the thing that bugs me is Ethan's surprise at her being shot. The camera is on her when she gets hit then immediately cuts to Ethan's surprised reaction. Then we see over his right shoulder the four armed guys. But here's the thing... they clearly would have been in his field of view given their proximity to him. The street's empty, so an agent of Ethan's caliber would notice them and be suspicious of their approach. Basically, the off-camera shot was meant to surprise us, the audience.

The choice is so small but very impactful in the movie as it builds the Ethan Hunt as protagonist in the series and help hum becoming more of a 3 dimensional in the MI genre. Which is plagued by unlimited secret agents somewhat psychopaths in their respected movies that are to bland to be emotionally connecting as a human being to the audience.
we know that as the protagonist, he is a very caring to ppl and have a high moral compass, but it is not shown in the early Mission movie before a scene like this, it looks like the writer and director want to emphasize that side of Ethan.
