@@chuckg6039 that’s me exactly. I hate seeing bad wrecks like that and I just pray they aren’t hurt. I still remember the vintage wreck in the exhibition at the grove. I thought that guy died
His head moved a decent bit, but his shoulders only moved a little. Belts also can stretch in bad accidents. Usually 2-3". I had a serious accident several years ago. Seen pictures and my head was almost out the top of the car, when fully belted in normally my head is no where near top of the car. I was kind of surprised, sent my belts and head & neck restraint in along with pictures. They said the belts stretched 3". Belts were bought brand new and put in the car to factory spec 4 or 5 races before the wreck. Head & neck restraint had cracking all across it and tethers also stretched a decent bit. I forget the forces they said the head & neck restraint would've taken to cause that damage, but it was a lot. They said without a doubt would've been basilar skull fracture and probably death without it.
Just a racing deal. That contact was definitely what started it all though. I’m sure Corey didn’t do that on purpose, but luckily Whittall was alright.
@@ChrisKraft-Racing9Cknocked out means he WAS actually hurt to some extent. Concussion most likely, even a mild one which is a potential issue. Hopefully he stays ok, that was nasty.
@@ChrisKraft-Racing9C knocked out is a pretty fair definition of being minorly injured- just FYI. It could certainly have been worse but knocked out is still hurt.
@@ChrisKraft-Racing9C and that is unfortunately coming from someone who was once “knocked out but not hurt”- and suffered post concussion syndrome for almost a year after. It doesn’t sound like he will have that issue, but this is where my point comes from.
So glad he is alright. I was very worried.
I really was especially when they turned the cam away from the car. I knew it was bad, and for a bit I thought he had a really bad injury.
@@ChrisKraft-Racing9C Just don't want to see anyone hurt.

@@ChrisKraft-Racing9C On a happier note, I was in Algonac, MI last year. It's the original home of Chris Craft boats.
Port Royal is a very fast track. When something goes wrong at that speed it’s not good. 🍀🇺🇸🍀
It sure looked to me like he didn’t have his shoulder belts, pulled very tight when the car came to a stop. He came pretty far of the seat.
It kinda does look like that. He was knocked out though so that might explain it

Looked Corey day came down on him and bumped him causing the wreck.

WHEW!
Yeah. It was bad. Luckily he was okay and didn’t have any injuries. Just knocked out when he landed

@@saragrant9749 he’s extremely lucky he didn’t get hurt in that crash. Port has had the worst wrecks so far this season.
