All I’ll say: SeaDoo - Made in Mexico, engine made in Mexico. Yamaha and Kawasaki - Made in the USA, engine made in Japan. An informed consumer is a smart consumer.
How often does one need to rebuild Yamaha Supercharger? Doesn't the root supercharger in Kawi last longer? With less maintenance? Not sure about general maintenance? Which has less? Which has better prices on parts?
The Kawasaki has more maintenance, but failures on the Eaton s/c itself are non existent. The Kawi maintenance is definitely more involved than the Yamaha SVHOs- exhaust filters, belt tensioners, belt, fogging etc. I ride with Yammy guys in the ocean who are always complaining about the supercharger clutch.
The Yamaha unit is a high quality Japanese HKS front mounted supercharger. These things are a great unit and they make big power low down. That's the big difference between how the Seadoo builds power the Yami & Kawi have better low down muscle. I run a stock boost wheel with a Riva shaft works great
I should mention that there were Kawasaki Jet Ski dealers in the US in 1974 selling Jet Skis before BRP even had a marketable patent…that being said, they don’t have as a robust dealer network, atleast in some regions.
On the Yamaha at cruising speed if you trim the bow down you will get a smoother less bumpy ride because more of the "V" is in the water, but it is also a wetter ride. You can trim the bow up to get a dryer ride but not as smooth. In other words fixing one of your issues makes the other one worse. Probably the same with the Kawasaki.
@@watercraftjournalouch, great reply. We’ll finally after a long search i purchased a 2022 KAWASKI Ultra LX-S with 30 hours . Love this beast. My purchase was based upon your video review and JD Waterworld.

The more comfortable ride for the wife was the main reason we chose FX. It's a great ski.
The Yamaha oil pressure issues (especially in rough conditions) keep me away. Staying with the King of Chop
Wouldn't test driving both of them give a better understanding of them?
What is the better option for a couple that will ride in (mostly) calm waters of the Florida Gulf of Mexico, between the FX and the Sea-Doo GTX?
You've seen our reviews (if not, you should). I'm going to lean towards the Yamaha FX.
Kawasaki !
@@scottr3141 the problem with Kawasaki is when you try to sell it. 😬

Yamaha and Kawi both recommend services every 100 hours.

Great video!
Aren’t there like 3 Kawi dealers in the US?
😂
There are tons, are you in Alaska ?

Lol yeah 3 that actually sale them but it's like 3,000 Kawasaki dealerships that work on the junk that they sale.

Get the Yamaha!
I like the 310 much more than the FX ,which slaps every ripple , it sucks.
I'm starting to realize your. How much is Kawasaki paying you ?
Less than what I get from your mom.

kawi glove box is a joke and the yamaha actually has a powerful reverse to get your skii off the trailer without dunking it into salt water.
Disagreed. The gullwing storage is great.
