I was just about to order this ball, when I saw you just posted this review. Looks like a big core asym that you don't need to swing 3 lanes to hit the pocket with. I love my Pathogen Plague solid urethane, and my Path Rising is a good burn ball.

I have a Pyramid Blood Moon Rising hybrid that I use on Game 3 sometimes in league and tourneys. Everytime someone will ask "what ball is that?" then laugh when I say pyramid. But I've averaged 210-215 with that ball this year 🤷♂️ they make some decent stuff!
Whatever works! Their stuff is decent though. I'd put the Pathogens up against anything.
Have a Blood Moon Rising as well. The best that ball ever looked was on the 40 ft Red Square pattern. That ball made that pattern look easy, and I'm just a 180 average bowler. Pairs up really nicely with my Jackal Legacy & Venom Shock.
My wife has a couple pyramids in her collection. She is happy with all of them.
Their stuff is nice.

You can build a solid arsenal with Pyramid for so cheap. Very underrated. Great performance for that price. Suggestions for the next review would be the Artic Vibe or Ebonite Fireball purple and gold.

I just subscribed because you were the first to review this ball. Looks to be nearly as good as the black widow. Probably a scuff with 2000 would bring it to life. From what I've seen with other people using pyramid. I believe their covers are a little weaker than the big brands. By the way you got some freakish revs. Keep hitting it harder.!

I have a Pyramid Fortress solid AKA the cow ball. That ball hits and responds just as well as my other Storm, Hammer equipment. Paid 105.00 out the door shipped. I drill myself so it was a great deal. I have won many jackpots with it. Pyramid makes decent stuff. Some of their stuff are hit and miss, but the large snazzy ball manufacturers have the same issue on some of theirs. For the price point you really cannot beat Pyramid. They pack performance in a small price point.
Yep! The OG Pathogen is still in rotation. Balls are good!
That Fortress solid is no longer available. This looks like its replacement. At $40 cheaper.

My Pathogen Asym arrived Thursday. Drilled it 5.5x4x3.5 2LS, and took it to practice today. Leftover open bowling house shot. Ball was pretty much what I expected, rolls like a big core asym solid, but hooks 5ish boards less than my other name brand big core asyms... which for me is a great thing. I'm rev dom, and always looking for weaker options to the hook monster name brand stuff. I'm going to go ahead and order a Blood Moon Rising pearl, and see if I get that same name brand shape, with the same lower overall hook.
Let me know how that one looks. For sure a big asym that you can stay in longer than the big brand stuff.
I might have to try one of these. I got that Hammer Extreme Envy and it's basically a cheat code for me.
For the price it's well worth it.

Interesting video as always. I’m thinking of getting a DV8 Trouble Maker Pearl. I’ve never thrown DV8, but some of the videos I’ve seen are very good. I think you could kill it with this one. I’m also considering an optimum idol from Rotogrip. I don’t know if you have reviewed it yet. Thanks again, and you are definitely in my top 3 favorite reviewers. And I can’t remember the others right now 😂.

I've only thrown the Captiv8 personally but that out of the box was really aggressive and snappy for me so I had to take it down to 1k just to control it more.
Great review, maybe for gits and shiggles, you could throw all your pyramid balls in the same bag and throw them all for league

I had the blue one from like 5 years ago, looks identical, in shape, and carry. They are very very sharp off the friction. But lead to over/under a lot of times. Not bad balls, just situational.
Fortress Hybrid was a miss for me but the Pathogens haven't missed yet. I use them on some hard conditions.

you said widow 2.0 11:20 sir but your throwing a 3.0. Figured I would tease a bit but anyway i was curious as to how long you've had your 3.0 and what the surface is on your bowling ball, I found that the out of box finish was nice for like 20 games but i needed a little more out of it as time progressed but not too much and did a 500 grit and 2000 grit hit on the bowling ball and it performed it little better than out of box than I anticipated and was curious as to what your surface was so i could do some trial and error with my other 2 3.0's and test out a polish for performance comparing.
I leave everything at box and let nature run it's course. I don't clean or anything.

I had a couple pyramids. I really liked them until I changed the surface on them and they died and became a paperweight/spare ball.

@hihbowling I told you that 3.0 loses its hook once it lane shines lol I had to hit mine with an old 1000 pad to get the backend pop back. but it's still not like how it was out of the box, and I put it in a bucket of JACKED to try and get the backend back.
Their stuff thrives in high friction environments.
I've thrown the OG on patterns the well known stuff didn't have a look on. Slept on.
