The guy who provided the synths for these songs in the studio was a childhood friend of mine. He was the son of a guitar store owner who had an insane collection of synths he lent out to bands.
I'm convinced it feels nostalgic because it resembles the sound we heard growing up in the 80s and 90s, heck some 00s. I'd wager mostly Gen X and beyond compromise most of their listeners. I can relate completely, reminds me of the 90s but fresh.

Ever since 2012 12 year old me coming home from 6th grade , and then my older sister (hs freshmen ) shows me someone’s lost MP3 .... we start browsing thru all the songs and remember when this one started playing we found a GEM 💎. I I always come to reminisce I am 20 now.
I remember listening to this song growing up when I just discovered partying. Sneaking out of my parents to go wild with my friends on warm summer nights. This song brings back the memories when I had not a care in the world. Good memories, good times.
This song makes me remember what all i lost and how free i have become hence. Amazing feeling.

This makes me think of when I'm biking at night with my friends. Feeling the cool night air blow gently in my face as we explore the streets. My friends doesn't see it like I do but it feels good to bike at night and admire the scenery as we bike together I hope things like this never end. I saw Alice in Crystal Castles wrap a mic around her neck and jump onto speakers with such immense energy as unknown openers for Metric at Martini Ranch in Scottsdale, AZ circa 2009. It was one of the craziest experiences I ever had and I loved every minute of it!!!
