    Used my unger 4k pole for a year but I've returned to using my phathom pole. It's clunky and quite heavy and the power brushes are really weak, they need armoured. Hi there, im thinking about buying an over the top rinse bar as i really like the concept and think it would make my work a lot more efficient, but im a little bit concerned that rinsing on glass could cause spotting. When i really think about it the last thing that touches the glass is pure water and it would achieve the exact same results as rinsing off the glass, potentially it could do an even better job on high windows as you can be more accurate with the rinse. Is this what you found or do you still rinse off glass?

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, the trouble is that the bristles splay out above where the rinse bar sits. So it also just gets in the way really and you end up hitting things with it. One of my favourite brushes has a rinse bar down the middle, but you have to rinse off the glass. But it doesn’t fit with the Unger system.

    • @Jeffbob244
      @Jeffbob244 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Ive just found your channel, having found some Unger videos. Im interested in cleaning my own windows, I have 2 houses and a flat. Im not very happy with the standard of cleaning provided by my existing cleaning contractor, they use the de-ionised water pole fed, but the windows dont look very clean, they just brush the plain water on, surely its necessary to use a detergent of some sort? I have an R.O system with a D.I filter, which I use for the final rinse of my cars, but only after I've washed them with a shampoo and clean water rinse.

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Traditional soaps will leave a tacky residue (microscopic) so the surface will become dirty again more quickly than a window cleaned with pure water, that doesn’t leave any residue.
      The window should be scrubbed thoroughly and rinsed well. The brush agitates the dirt and the dirt then sticks to the water. A good rinse will then just leave pure water behind without any dirt.
      Regular cleaning will keep it well maintained, but for very dirty or neglected windows, a little bit of soapy solution will be loosened the dirt. I do this for first cleans, or anything that hasn’t been cleaned for a long time.👍🏼

    • @geoffaries
      @geoffaries ปีที่แล้ว

      @aemackintosh many thanks for your reply. Maybe I just need to change my window cleaner. If I wanted to clean them myself, is it viable/sensible to purchase the WFP system? How often should the windows be cleaned using the soap system v the WFP.

    Unger's customer service leaves a lot to be desired. My first wfp was an alum nLite and a Hydropower vessel - the Hydropower is great but the female inlet was damaged so I asked Unger if the new shiny metal Hydropower Ultra fittings would fit the original Hydropower. They said yes but turns out they were wrong - the Geka female thread is screwed up in the wrong way and my attempts to communicate with them have only met silence. I'm sure I've also sent messages about their products on other topics and they rarely replied.

    I had my windows cleaned for 3 months with the brush on a stick method, it may be better for the cleaner, but not for the paying client.
    I went back to the traditional guys and got it done right again.
    If I wanted it done the lazy way, I could use a hose and a car/van wash brush and do it myself better.

      Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with a water fed pole window cleaner. This method is becoming more and more popular since it can achieve excellent results and windows even stay cleaner for longer when cleaned with pure water. But like any task, if it isn’t carried out correctly you won’t achieve the desired results.
