Light never has a back up plan due to the overconfidence too. He easily could have told mikami to take a real page of the notebook in his pocket and to test it just to make sure.
Very good ideea but this is not the only problem with Light. If he really wanted just to help the world,to rebuild it,he would ignore L and the rest of God of the new world thing. You see...it s true what Light said: If Kira is caught he is Evil but if he succed with his plan he is justice. I say that because the whole thing applies in our world,there are a lot of people with justice issues,people that want the bad ones to be judged I AM ONE OF THEM! But if I think better this is not the way universe goes,the real God is the one who judges and you can t switch the roles even if you have a DEATH NOTE
