Description: Charlie is trying to get a job in a movie. After causing difficulty on the set he is told to help the carpenter. When one of the actors doesn't show, Charlie is given a chance to act but instead enters a dice game. When he does finally act he ruins the scene, wrecks the set and tears the skirt from the star.

FYI trivia - Ben Turpin sacrificed his career so that he could spend more time to care and attend to his wife with a frail and sickly condition for more than a decade - now aside from Charlie, Ben is also a comedian in US History who deserves respect and recognition...

Nice to see this although you might have honoured Essanay Studios - and the film's place in silent film history - instead of yourself. This picture gives an insight into early movie making and also features a young Gloria Swanson (uncredited). The Chicago Essanay building still stands with its front door and Indian head logo. Also many of the studio interiors are original. Unlike Hollywood, Chicago isn't quite as hell bent on destroying its own legacies and history.
