- Lion hunting in the spring in Idaho. Got lucky to get on a pretty fresh track in mostly bare ground and the dogs did a great job putting up a cat we have caught in years past, who has one bad eye that looks like she probably can't see out of.
This is the same cat in my first ever youtube video I uploaded three years ago. She was caught and released, hopefully there were a few kittens in that big belly.
Good to see One Eye is still going strong.

That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard. The government in California thought these things should never been killed either so they ban hunting. Then they became overpopulated. So instead of opening hunting back for them, and allowing sportsmen to pay and put money into the government to enjoy the sport. They started using tax payers money to pay "sharpshooters" to execute the cats and bury them in holes with back loaders. You either balance nature it nature goes out of balance.

I can dig catch and release hinting. As long as the cats not hurt or displaced. These dogs want to track. Man wants to hunt. We want to know more about this experience and I'd like to believe that most ppl dont want to shoot animals unless their own survivals at stake.

People in the comments don't seem to understand that this is the best way to get a mountain lion to move on from an area. If they are allowed to kill livestock and go unchallenged, they will continue to do so. And even if cougars in the area aren't a nuisance, the dogs still need practice and training.

I love hunters like you...I wish more "man idiots" would try this way of enjoying a "season" of hunts. Thank you for not killing her and showing all the other idiots out there, that you can "take home a trophy" using a camera instead of a hide. Much more beautiful and memorable. Your dogs....they (Walker hounds?) they seem so small for mountain lion ...? I have two Catahoula and a Doberman and even they seem a bit small compared to a ML. (I live in N. California so I have and my dogs have, seen our share of ML's). I'm happy that she was of a predictable personality type of ML as she didn't go after your dogs. I hope she can or did raise a few kittens too. Thank you for posting. You get some respect for this, appreciated.

These cats need to be left alone. They are not bothering you so there no need invade their home with your dogs plus your dogs can get killed by Puma just leave these beautiful big cats alone and let them enjoy life.

All Cougar trying so is its life without being bothered and these creature populations are down real fast. We need our big cats and they are important to this planet. Every year's more hunters are killing Cougars nonstop becoming out control and they just leave their dead body there. They just killing for fun. The only hunting I support is hunting for food and survival. I see this creature as God beautiful creation because they are beautiful. The way God has made Earth is beautiful.
