Babyface is one of if not the greatest song writer in our modern era... he has written so many hits for so many artists.... he will go down in musical history as a legend... I take my hat off to the man and his genius.
Babyface and L.A. Reid made Bobby Brown's solo career. Life After New Edition. Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds wrote and produced: Don't Be Cruel. Roni, Rock Wit Cha, Every Little Step I Take, Good Enough, Humpin Around, On Our Own. and more.
Definitely have love for Bobby Brown, New Edition and Babyface. (LA &) Babyface is to Bobby what Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis is to New Edition. At a time when each others' careers were uncertain, both legendary songwriters/producers crafted masterpieces for them and put them on top.
I literally think of Bobby's comments every time I see BF. This man is a legend. The REAL king of R&B. So as much as I love Bobby, he was really tripping back then. And New Edition is just sacred! LOL
they made bobby brown sing it straight (which gives it sing-along capabilites)...he was trying to add runs and extra stuff....bobby brown once said didnt even like the song initially, saying it was "too slow" and the beat was "too close to Levert's "Casanova""......
@@kazardancing Yeah, writers and/producers do that a lot with singers, make them sing straight. I still love that song but Bobby had a point, that beat *is* similar to 'Casanova'.
as much as I love the man face and what he has done musically with and without LA Reid, my hat still goes off to Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis..... you mature heads no what I mean the songs they wrote and produced for the likes of Midnight Star, Human League etc.
Tony Akins I agree whole heartedly but I think again Jam and Lewis were eclectic in the music and style they were able to write and produce in. As great as Face still is I don't think he had that capabilities like Jam and Lewis. Let's agree to this they are all great and supplied us with wonderful gifts to enjoy. without the mark they made on us (especially those of us that was living at the time) their would have been a void.

Definitely have love for Bobby Brown, New Edition and Babyface.

My favorite artist of all time.
Babyface actually sounds good doing "Dont be cruel." he could have sang it himself.

you stopped right at my jam, Roni!!!
One of the Greatest of all Times.!!!
Babyface the best .Muy bueno
I totally agree. I'll chalk that up to Bobby being on that stuff back then. Bet he would beg to work with BabyFace these days.
So does that really mean baby face is the King of R&B..?...hmmm
Id say so. 👍🏽
And both production teams came from two great, Midwestern bands.

D C true. but baby face wrote more number one hits than tl&jjam. but it's close tho.
BTW baby face wrote midnight star "SLOWJAM"
Tony Akins you are correct but I didn't say what song they wrote for the group

You can pick either duo and be just right.... I miss that entire time. There are no RnB groups today, it's a shame.
"get Bob out of here! get him out of here! Get him out!! Now!!!!"

Mean band!
It's just hard to believe that Bobby Brown turned around and DISSED Babyface and New Edition back in 1997.
I thought that was just tacky of Bobby.
Come in France
@olfu1974 They ARE "his own". They after all originated in his head.
