      Kwame is the low cost of ejoe. A new Meech vs Ejoe could be more interesting

    house is stricter than ballet if you look at the comments, man meech was really killing every round matching the songs with different styles of movement and rythm, both in energy and concepts. he def got that

    • @Ell.06
      @Ell.06 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      House is stricter than ballet? That is a very questionable statement

    • @sn4pi
      @sn4pi 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Ell.06 Why? He's right that the comment sections of house battles are always toxic and very subjective - even though you nearly can't do anything wrong in house dance as long as you dance to the music. So in reality house should be the freest dance next to Salsa and Lindy Hop I think. Ballet is indeed stricter

    idk how y'all thought meech won no disrespect but kwame was on beat and a lot more fluid meech was kinda stiff and there really wasn't much house to his rounds idk but that's my opinion I'm a kwame Stan LOL

    • @sn4pi

      Firstly in house you can do anything as long as you dance to the music which both did (You might think house must have alot of fast steps and Basic Jacks but that doesn't have to be the case). Second, Meech has a very unique style so if you'd watch the video again for 2 or 3 times and only focus on the accenting of both dancers and how they played with the dynamic of their flow, you might see why Meech was chosen by the jury. And at last you should watch coflos video on "house music against house dance culture" to get a wider perspective on house battles :)
      Also just to get more insight on Meech's style you should watch "Meech vs Kapela" 's Summer Dance Forever battle!
      Many greetings and have a nice day ^^

      please elaborate.

    • @relentlessthedragon
      @relentlessthedragon 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@stephaneog3977 now this is only my opinion, and its backed by my own experience at house dance clubs here in nyc, at FUNKBOX...."Groove and Musicality". Meech won the battle, but lacked both. Dancing on top of the music isn't that hard, hitting the accents of a song with your body does not take skill if you already know the song. HOWEVER dancing to the music keeping a constant groove and rhythm while hitting accents, takes a skilled dancer. In the genre of house dance, its especially difficult because having a groove to your dance is what makes house dance what it is.
      the judges definitely were watching something else on their phones. LOL.

      @stephaneog3977 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@relentlessthedragon i got your point. the final decision seems unfair as on musicality and groove kwame got it. still in terms of technics kwame need to set his game up. technically poor. i dont ask him to become a freak like hiro or mamson, however i think that because of it it is hard for him to win. it is a housedance contest he shoukd at least be having the basic vocabulary. let say can salah the popper can enter a housedance contest and win with just his amazing musicality and groove without be able to do a single hoyse step common.

      @@relentlessthedragon 2 of the 3 judges are:
      1. Sha - from NYC - one of the long-time house dancers here... long before Funkbox
      2. Tasha - lives in NYC several years - just finished advanced degree in dance at NYU.
      Both of them voted for Meech on both rounds. Do you think those two don't know about "groove and musicality?"
      What is groove? How is Kwame's groove better here?
      How is Kwame's musicality better than Meech's in this battle?

      I remember when people were doing 'house popin' and 'beat tickin' back in the 80s and early 90s here in NYC.
      Popin, breaking, funk and lofting are kissin cousins of house dancing. I hear your point tho that Meech should have attempted to incorporate more house into his routine...
