One of the songs which helped me to discover Man Man. I've watched this video so many times. These guys are just genius. Their music is my self-therapy.
Oh my god. That was absolutely wonderful. From just the very beginning of the song I knew I was going to like it, and then it busts out even more instruments you hardly see in music! It was just so perfect.
Heard them the 1st time at that Redstone show.after there is no other band I listen to more. That was an infectious show but I suppose all Man Man shows were then.
Yeah I suppose you are kinda right here, this was the first song I discovered by Man Man the other day, upon listening to others he definitely takes a ton of influence from Waits. I guess I just wish he was a tad more raspy like Waits, that is one of the main things that draws me to Tom..I just love that grungy, working mans grumble he has.
There was a video of them palying and walking the streets of NOLA? I'm not sure. I can't really remember it, and can't find anything about it. Any chance anyone seeing this has a clue what I'm on about?
Life long unhealthy FANatic of all things Waits, I could disagree more Honus Honus voice is way more suited for this.his projection is larger than Waits and the song needs that. Think about it..and really out of all thecManMan songs this one doesn't give that much of Waits vibe aside from the marimba, sketchy horns, rumba beat, odd percussion and share subject manner of criminals and outsiders I don't hear the similarities
I’m IN LOVE with this band and Ryan Kattner’s voice is ADDICTING!!

I like to think it describes Man Man perfectly.

Alberta's a lampshade
The fireman's an ashtray
The DJ spins as fan blades
I feel like Honus Honus is about as "Like Tom Waits" as you can get
That was my initial reaction to Man Man, but the more I've listened to Man Man the less they sound alike to me.
YUM
Cool cat-tner.

Put a vocalist like Tom Waits on this song and it would be GOLD
