I did some quick research and found that the hedgehog was chosen as the mascot for this concept because of the Greek parable "The fox knows many things, but the hedgehog knows one big thing." Learn more about The Hedgehog Concept here: www.jimcollins.com/concepts/the-hedgehog-concept.html

But also, the venn diagram literally looks like a hedgehog. Not the way you drew it, but if you put the two circles on bottom (the two legs) and the one circle on top (the head). Then the center black part is the snout, upward pointing intersections are the ears, downward facing intersection is two arms (perhaps). So I postulate it's a hedgehog concept because of that reason. The thing about the Greek parable just so happens to have been shoehorned into the conversation like Cinderella's Stepsister's foot into the glass slipper.

Thanks for sharing. It was important to mention that it really does take time to find that center of that intersection. Possibly years for some people. I’m still working on all 3 areas. :)

Indeed! In many ways it's a lifelong journey, since circumstances change so often.

One thing I do is set my concept for a time period. Ie my hedgehog for the next 6 months.

Actually the concept is a reduction of the Japanese idea of Ikigai, in which instead of 3 sets there are 4, including one more, "what the world needs" (giving value to the community is part of traditional Japanese culture).

Love this one! And you splitting channels has pushed me to think about doing the same. Thanks for leading the way.

I like the new green screen look with you hosting from the corner. It feels more like a conversation or connection. I do think the banner can be dialed in if you want some area to grow. My Venn Diagram looks like drops in a pond right now. 😂

Thanks Suzette, I'm glad you like the green screen look! And yeah, the channel banner is pretty much just a placeholder for now until I come up with something better :)

Hi Doug, looks like your youtube channel is somewhat new. I've been geeking out on Jim Collins and Naval Ravikant (you should definitely make videos on his work as well!). Really enjoyed your video, I watch and read plenty in this space. Keep up the strong work!
