The Manydown Shoot

  • After seeing this day advertised on Facebook, we decided to go and have a day at the Manydown shoot in Hampshire.
For birds to fly their best the weather needs to be right, so with no wind and bright sun, it wasn't ideal conditions. Luckily a shoot day is about much more than the birds, and we had a great time with friends all the same.
Our thanks to Kevin and Adam for looking after us on the day.
    Enjoy

Thanks for taking us along. A day afield is better than a day in the office. Cheers.

Have not even watched the full video yet but that line of how the day became available and the profits being donated to charity nearly brought a tear! Keep up the good work and good shooting over the festive period....with luck I'll get myself an hour or 2 pigeon shooting!

Looked like an awesome day regardless. Perhaps if I had more shoots under my belt, I could be more critical. Looking forward to lots of the former, and little of the later. Thanks for sharing. Great video.

It really was a wonderful day regardless.
Everyone had a smile on their face, and that what is is important at the end of the day. The problem is that you are always comparing it to the days where everything is perfect, but as we all said on her day, there is nothing anyone can do about the weather except enjoy oneself and not worry about it.

Awesome, this is literally 5 minutes down the road from me! I live in monk Sherborne. I love the countryside, I've just got a BSA r10 sir rifle to get pigeons and rabbits but I'd love to do a stalk one day once I know more about it, going to see about beating as well to get into the shooting world, any advice would be appreciated! Great video, really well produced and entertaining good work!

Another great video, beautifully shot, as were the birds on the first drive - One Shot Jonny :D
Is that the Star at Kingsclere ? It's had a face life since I was last there !

As usual the video is stunning. The camera is on point and the colour grading is great. My only 2 criticism are, the audio and the dirty sensor. Either your mic is pants or it’s positioned incorrectly. It sounds stodgy, muffled and flat. 2nd criticism is that you need to clean that sensor. It’s dirtier than Dagenham Debbie on a Friday night! Other than that, great video and great camera work and editing.

Hi John, first off, happy boxing day, hust wondered what is that cap you are wearing, looks really smart.
Would you recommend a yildiz pro, it looks very well made, its just the fact it's Turkish, which is a slight worrie.
Brilliant vids, keep up the good work.

There seems to be some sort of competitive vibe here. Why are you using such powerful cartridges on these birds???

Never a fan of the way that you/others rest your barrels on the ground, even if it is on a sleeve or boot. Think it very bad practice.

shooting pest species or culling i can agree with, i like shooting clays but i wont shoot a beautiful creature like a wild pheasant, or partridge or woodcock or even duck ; 4:31 there is something deeply sad and slightly obscene about killing a magnificent beautiful (and endangered wild bird) like a pheasant for 'sport' , particularly as none of you looked like you were starving and had to put food on the table, given the expensive clothing, guns, very high entry fees , im guessing food is the least of your reasons for shooting pheasant

These pheasants aren’t endangered and neither are the French partridge
