Nice! Thank you for sharing. I think its great we can begin our "lore" from the ground up. For me, I have the "Desert Angels" (Battle Brothers) and my Red Moon Clan(Ork Marauders). It's just fun to do. Take Care and look forward to more!
What I find interesting about OPR is that all the lore in the short stories so far has the humans as the antagonists
Inner Sphere - Hadrians Wall but in 3D - through experience they have learnt that there is only so much volume they can protect safely and also they understand there needs to be an 'outside' as an option. Soumds good enough to me 😁
Was just about to bring up the same point. The inner system, much like any empire, only has a limited number of resources. If it stretches itself too thin, then it would be open for an attack.
I love the fact that Grimdark Future is Grimdark without being moronic unlike 40k.

@@Good.Nuff.Gaming an An Inquisitor Exterminates a planet just because he thinks there might be chaos corruption in it, WITHOUT doing any kind of investigation.
I don’t mind the humanity being the main protagonist for it doesn’t look that dominant. Sirius sector and the galaxy beyond look full of opportunity and powerful aliens. It reminds me of Star Wars and even more Star Trek.
I wouldn't mind if source of psychic powers turns out to be the composition of the Sirius galaxy itself - the elements making the galaxy itself are still having trace elements in the planets and space themselves
The Center can't be all great because the Rebel Guerilla faction operates in part to oppose actions done there.
In my opinion what makes OPR Grimdark Future work us that every faction has its reasons to fight and at times not to.
Ratmen Clans want a safe place to call home. People fight for that. Robot Legions are seeking to find a purpose now that they have sentience and some of them believe their purpose is to overthrow their creators and organic life. Jackals are space scavengers who are trying to adjust from being a tribal society that has been thrust into space. The Dwarf Legions caused the radiance cascade and they have to live with the consequences. The Elven Fleets lost their homes and created the robot Legions. You have the Sisters The HDF The Inquisition and the Prime Custudian and Battle brothers all competing about what they believe is best for humanity. The Machine Cultist bring both innovation and dangerous new technologies and radioactive materials. The Alien Hives want to survive and must consume. The Infection wants to propagate. Then you have the Havoc factions.
To me the setting us full of possibilities.
I hope they make a fantasy lorebook.

Until we really meet aliens, our story should be human centric. 😅 People need to be able to 'identify' with at least one faction, so I think this is fine ❤ Fallout is on Earth, so human centric is a given and 40k is DEFINITELY human centric.
