We didnt get it initially but when we were fighting zariel alongside some redeemed hellriders about halfway through the fight, all the hellriders were dead and we were at 3/6 KO I told the DM my bard was going to sing this as I charged zariel with her own sword. He started playing this :D When it finished playing (like 3 turns later) he had me roll a performance check and told us that Zariel was weeping as she fought and couldn't bring herself to fight anymore, it was so epic!
I'm so glad this is a thing. I'm planning on running Descent into Avernus and this video saves me from embarrassing myself attempting to sing this lol.
Oh my god Almost a year and a half ago I was a player in a group, and our DM turned this on while we were at Elfsong. Yesterday we finished the campaign, and as an epilogue he turned it on again. We were all literally in tears, and half of us don't even speak English LOL) Now I'm preparing to run a prequel game to this campaign, and this song will definitely be a part of it. Amazing job!
During prep for our campaign, I keep coming back to listen to this, just cause its so awesome. Not only is this amazing, but I can't remember the last time I saw TH-cam comments so universally positive. As someone else said, somedays I love the internet. It makes me want a Forgotten Realms based tv show or movie.

During our trip to Elturel in Hoard of the Dragon Queen we met what looked like an Elven Cleric or Sorcerer I'm not sure, but she sung this on the road when we saw the Companion a far. It was a beautiful moment for all of us.

Me and my group finished Descent into Avernus tonight and I immediately went googling for stuff about the campaign now that I no longer have to fear spoilers. This is beautiful. I had already forgotten about the ghost, it's been so long. Thank you.
We started a campaign and just had our third session. I play the only Hellrider in the group and for this adventure, I created 20 other Hellrider (NPCs) which I knew by name, pictures and backstory. However, every of these Hellriders we met so far was killed, dead or dying (half of them up to now). As far as our player-group knows, I am the only Hellrider who made it to Baldur's Gate and when our GM played this song in the tavern it was just heartbreaking, even if it's just a game. Can't wait how this story continues. Thank you for this beautiful song which makes the game so much more immersive.

My party just all had their souls ripped from them so I'm running this campaign now in two weeks. Will be adding in side quest to find their souls and rolls n checks to see if their souls head back into their bodies to finish my homebrew we were playing
I played this for my players over discord after revealing the elf and they absolutely loved it. We were playing on talespire and I had the tavern ambiance playing, I revealed the ghost and turned the ambiance off. Played this through a bit in our discord call and the players were in awe. Thank you!

I justed started dming this about a month ago... Damn I wish I knew this had existed. I spared my players hearing my singing voice and just read this to them lol. The party is about to head to Candle Keep so I'll show them this at the session tomorrow.

The voice is as haunting as the city's sad story. I'm currently running a Tiamat campaign for my boys, but I will close off the campaign with this song and the simple message ''The City has fallen'' to lead into the next one.
So for the group that I’m playing in I’m playing a kenku Paladin welp we just finished this area. When the ghost started singing the first song my kenku started singing along and now he knows this song think I will sing it during the final battle
I played this session one in the elfsong tavern, In 2 sessions while the party walks the streets of Elturel in the final session to confront Zariel herself; I will play it again as they approach her.
The second I read the song in the book I dropped it and Googled it to try and find something just like this. I hope to be DMing this in the future as my fist campaign and this will definitely kick things of well👍 Until then I’ll just keep listening to it because it’s soo damn good.

The song Dawn of victory from Rhapsody allways remind me of Zariel and the Hell riders, especially Zariel with his sword, I recommend them to anyone who likes the story of descent into avernus

Noticed one minor typo in the subtitles at the lyric starting around 1:17... Jess correctly sings "We’re bound by mortal covenant / That only ends with death", but the subtitle reads "ends in death" instead of "ends with death". That's the only one I noticed. Great work!

I don't have it with me where I am, but if you download Audacity, you can record the audio file while it plays in TH-cam on your computer, then export it as a wav or mp3! Basically it's recording the audio from your computers sound, you can Google it and it will tell you exactly how to set it up! Thank you, let me know how it goes in your campaign!
