There's going to be tons of different dynamics to consider to produce these resources. Lots of moving parts without even considering adjustments needed for profitability.

I completely agree. I only scratched the surface. I wanted to hone in on the specific topic of being self sufficient, which at its core, would have to start with a plan for feeding the workers on the land, whatever you choose to do with it. Thanks.

The Salt impact destroyed my faith in Splinterlands. How can it be fun to get ripped off by the team. Wake up guys.

It is one of the decisions that I do not like and am heavily interested in seeing the specific numbers when they come out, as-to how much the salt will impact overall operations. It's a fine line, if it impacts too much, it will drive more people away, such as it has to you. Thanks.

Presumably the grain farms are going to have to produce a lot more grain in relation to consumption than other basic resource producing plots. If they make it too scarce then production Will grind to a halt and people will quit. We need it to be a flowing resource that fills the liquidity pools and oils the machine of land to make the game a smooth and accessible experience. In my opinion elemental grains should be easier to store for better quality of life and maybe even give production boosts ... But if they are actually needed for praetoria to run in its entirety then im afraid we will see a lot of bottle necking and barriers to the game economy functioning in a satisfying manner for our populace

Probably why its taken longer to work this all out, only answer is for there to be a splinterlands shop from there cut/tax to allow you to buy direct and just make it 10% more expensive them the last sold price this should stop bottle necks, this will also put more into the DAO or it can be burnt, just an idea but your right we must be able to ensure you can get what you need from a player or the market

Good video, but makes me not want to invest any more or play the game any more. It just seems like a lot of work. I think the team is going in the wrong direction. They are trying to make the game suck up all people's assets, with unknown return. Pretty soon it will cost $1K to have a farm on a common plot. Not sure how we attract new entrants at this point. The game is getting less and less fun as it gets developed further. The goal of the game needs to be to expand the player base because the game is fun. I wonder when the team will come up with a new way to take everyone's money and make them work even more while devaluing previously purchased assets. Conflicts seems to be working out well. I need to find a new game.

It's a very common strategy for aging multi-player games to suck as much money as possible out of the existing player base. How can you attract new players to many year old game that's very, very expensive and complicated to get started. Milking existing base is the only way forward.

A simple strategy would be to buy sps. Then once you double your money take out the original capital then try to compound in the game.

Is it even a good idea to have players being self sufficient?

    • @jasonjenkins6373

it will probably save you from paying a premium in the market. people will overcharge

Good question. I was just diving into it because it was a discussion point. I think the game is devised and setup to work best when people are not self sufficient. However, I can see the attraction to wanting to be self sufficienct and not having to rely upon anyone else. Thanks.

@@Bronzedrag0n_Gaming I think as long as no one is monopolizing on any resources, the demand and supply would eventually work itself out.

@@jasonjenkins6373 as long as there are competitions, those who overcharge would find no buyers.

@@genming5317 It will be interesting to see how things go when LPs become available with the still relatively low amount of live/staked out land. Thanks.
