You don’t think paper Mario origami king or Pokémon legends arceus have any originality? Even the final fantasy pixel remasters with the same bad font on smartphones, overhaul a lot. I did like the legaia games and sad they’re not available on PS3, but I am happy for the thousands of games on sale for holiday 2021. Even liked chaos rings 3 and dungeon encounters. We get dozens of games every week or month these days and you’re bound to run into something you may like if you own a switch, steam/mobile or PlayStation. XBox does have lost odyssey and backwards compatibility (series x I’d recommend for cheap physical copies) but not too many rpgs or anime games. Does get annoying seeing a switch tax I admit, especially stuff released a year later, but at least the option of digital games and subscriptions preserve things (though sega genesis collection is far better than switch online expansion).
@Mr. Variant to be fair pregame king is not an RPG, Paper Mario on N64 and Paper Mario Thousand Year Door on GameCube were both RPGs though. Pokemon Legends Arceus didn't exist when the guy you responded to wrote his comment. Also the Final Fantasy Pixel remasters aren't new games they are games from the 90s that have been remastered. We are starting to see alot of RPGs get released now in the last year but 2 years ago there weren't all the many remasters and remakes of classic RPGs we have now. That said I do think we are starting to get alot of great RPGs, we got alot of classic that got remasters and remakes this year.
I know it's an early PS2 game but Legaia 2 doesn't look nearly as aesthetically pleasing and detailed as its PS1 predecessor. Feels something was lost with the atmosphere and art direction....
That something is - Better camera works - Stop section where it shows who cast it and who's the targets - Unique Intro for each seru - No Smooth animation, The first one follows the Frame by frame animation which makes it looks like an anime. - Special effects and sound effects (I bet if you're a long fan you'll still remember most of the SFX from summoning, to how it ends)
Was a massive fan of both when they came out. RPGs back in the day had so much more heart nowaddays its hard to come across anything creative
