A Day in the Woods - Budget Bushcraft Coffee Perculator - One Pan Campfire Cook Up.

  • Hello everyone, in this video I head up to the woods to check out a budget coffee percolator I picked up on eBay (link below) and I also cook up a Moroccan curry in the large Finnish wilderness pan. The pan was new and I dropped a clanger by using passata as a sauce which was so acidic it stripped off the nice blue coating from the pan. It's purely cosmetic and the pan is already starting to blacken again with the amount of use it's been getting.
    Until next time, take it easy, stay warm and drink beer 🍺🔥👍

    Great video Ben, the Mrs has warned me of cooking with aluminium because some doctors have linked it with early onset alzheimers disease. Because of that we use stainless steel and cast iron for all our camp cooking and boiling. Just my 2 cents worth mate. Take it as you will. Really enjoy the vids. All the best, cheers

    • @Adventure-Outdoors
      @Adventure-Outdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cheers Thomas! Yeah I'm aware of the health concerns around aluminium, I try not to use it too much myself. I swapped the Trangia Alu kettle for a GSI stainless steel one a while back and tend to do all of my cooking on iron or steel these days. I figured for occasional use I'll go with aluminium for it's weight and low cost and not worry too much, seeing as I'm happy to sink countless beers from aluminium cans.......which, when I think about it, does actually induce memory loss, so maybe there is something in it! 😂👍

    Great vid. I got one of those percolators myself. Does the job, and a billy bargain. Why spend a fortune? I've got army surplus aluminium cookware that's over 40 years old and still going strong. Including a 1945 US army waterbottle and cup that still does the job. Way too much kit snobbery in the bushcraft world.
