Spare fuel so necessary with modern small tanks. Pack light: absolutely. I do the same with tank bags. Heated grips make so much difference in cold countries.
Stumbling across this far too late, but I'd add Barkbusters to the heated grips, they make such a difference keeping the rain and cold off the back of your hands.
My suggestion is to keep your phone on you and charge a power bank. You might need to make a call if you part company with your bike. Heated grips are great, gloves are warmer in extreme conditions but grips are always on the bike and can be used at anytime.

I would also add an electric shoe dryer, which you can plug into a wall. I think I was the only one with dry shoes :P
