Welcome to Osaka, the oldest Japan in the world. There are many bridges in Osaka. Especially the view from Tenmabashi is awesome! From Temmabashi station, you can walk to Osaka Castle. ten minutes and to Kyoto-jo in fifty minutes. It's a hidden secret spot.
That looked like a lot of fun! The last part with the crowds, then no one by the river was such a contrast. I loved the last restaurant, it was so homey, comfortable. The advice on the castle is very true, as I have heard that from many others.
Glad you enjoyed it! We’re so happy knowing that actually we not only vlog our experience but also can provide you with some value 🎉 The tiny restaurant spots were so cute and it felt so intimate dining there! Not even mentioning how delicious were all the foods ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words ❤ Before entering the country we always make some research on the culture, rules, and local delicacies so we’re glad it’s been noted 🎉
Osaka , is indeed a great city to visit in Japan. We love it. Sounds like you guys had a great time there. The food is sensational. Harriet and I want to wish you a Merry Christmas🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄 and Happy and Prosperous new Year 2025🍷🍷 from❤❤ Jim and Harriet Richmond, VA.
We loved our time in Osaka too! It definitely has become one of our top cities in Japan! Relaxed atmosphere, delicious food scene, friendly people and a lot of entertainment 🎉 Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and wishing you a wonderful start of the year guys ❤
Merry Christmas. Thank you for the reference to the Expo in Osaka. I did not know about this. Will be interesting to follow this to see how the Asian countries compare to Canada on the future use of fossil fuels and renewable energy.
Happy holidays! We were really surprised how well-organised and nice the city is so no doubt it has a great potential to host such a big initiative 😍 And advertisements were all around so I just couldn’t have said anything 🎉 [Karolina].
The topping on the takoyaki is mayonnaise, Bonito flakes (dried out tuna that has been shaved) and a Worcestershire style sauce. And the way that Jay just put the whole takoyaki in his mouth. I thought that he was going to burn the inside of his mouth 😅
i actually enjoyed going inside Osaka Castle, the view was worth it. FYI don't stand in the queue, just use your phone to buy online and skip the queue!
Going inside Osaka Castle is definitely worth it! There is no need to wait in the long line. Just buy web ticket. It takes two minutes and you can walk right in. I visited about a month ago.
Osaka as well as it's adjacent cities/towns such as Kobe and Nara were a treat . We spent 3.5 weeks there in May/June 2023. We only stepped foot in Tokyo on the way in and on the way out. Next trip will be mostly Tokyo but we are tempted to mostly do Osaka once again.
oh my favorite Uncle Rikuro ! did you go to 551 HORAI ? yes Dotonbori and the Shinsekai area has a lot of those static 3D Billboards, awesome lighting at night !
That cheesecake was AWESOME! And we were so glad we went for the one which was freshly baked 😍 We were also so happy with our food choices in Osaka because everything was delicious! We've never heard of this Horai 551 but just googled it and this Chinese food chain looks like a very nice place :)!
Great choice of restaurants! Have you stopped by Hiroshima? The place I would most like you to visit is Hiroshima. I strongly urge you to visit Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park at least once. I would so much like to have you polite and moderate travelers explore all of Japan🌱🌱
We’re big foodies so we always make sure to try the most authentic local dishes recommended by other people 😍 But Osaka made it easier for us because there’s a lot of amazing spots! We were in Japan only for 2.5 weeks so we visited Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara - and we would have squeeze in more places but with filming and the stress of it, it wouldn’t have been enjoyable 😅 So we decided that next time once we visit Japan, we really want to venture into some other parts of it! Like Okinawa, Hiroshima or even Hokkaido!
We do! It always feels special spending it in foreign countries and watching how people do celebrate Christmas 🎄❤ Thank you so much for watching Carl and have a wonderful start of the year!
My first visit to Japan I went to Tokyo of course. I wish I had a month to go all over Japan. I’ll probably visit Osaka and Kyoto. I like the historical sites of course but also art galleries and anime and Gundam shops
Them flakes were so flavourful 😋 And even if we don't like Octopus, Takoyaki were really delicious! WE ATE A LOT! After all, Japan is the culinary capital of Japan, so we have the excuse and special privilege not to count the calories hahahah. We can't even tell what was our favourite meal... Okonomiyaki and Kushikatsu probably but even when we went to the local spots and tried some simple foods, everything was delicious ❤️
It’s honestly so hard to make a statement because we had amazing foods (even of the camera) 😂 But we really loved the experience of Kushikatsu - the cosy space, super friendly people, sipping Choya and getting the deep fried goodies 🍢
Oh my god I heard you say at 24:34 that the crab is Karolina's worst nightmare. Does she have kabourophobia? It's a phobia that I also have, but I've never heard of another person having it!
@@JayandKarolina Haha, I'm glad that I'm not alone in having this fear! By the way, I've loved seeing the Japan vlogs from you two. I'm actually moving from the UK to Japan for a year, and your videos have given me some inspiration for places to check out in my first month! Keep up the great work!
79% of tourists who visit Japan travel to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, where there are problems with tourist overcrowding. Please consider other parts of Japan next time.
What’s wrong with visiting these places if it’s their first few trips? You can’t expect everyone to find some obscure city or village to visit. Yes I know you are probably one of those people who and it very obvious that you don’t like touristy places and take pride in finding unknown areas. You feel a sense of accomplishment, that I know. I have friends exactly like you. But really, what’s wrong with visiting osaka or Tokyo if it’s their first time to Japan? Get off your high horse buddy.
@@foodmoreI understand what you are saying but how do you experience the actual culture of Japan if only go these places. It’s nice to see but Osaka and Kyoto are overrated and overcrowded. These people only went to these places because all of YT or “influencers” are raving about. Japan has other regions that offer more like Nagasaki or north of Tokyo in Saitama or go to Niigata. The whole reason people travel is to experience other cultures not standing in line for overrated takoyaki or ride overcrowded trains. 😂
@jc7741 it’s their first time dude. What’s wrong with going touristy places? I’m not saying they can’t go there. I’m saying it’s their first time. Their first start. We can somehow understand your point but as first-time visitors who also wanted to film our experiences, we wanted to see the most recommended things :) It might have been a bit too crowded for our liking but at least we know for the next time to explore more of the lesser known places :)
We can totally understand why 😍 Osaka became our one of our top cities in Japan - amazing food options, unique vibe, art scene and nightlife! 🎉 Thank you so much for watching our videos Simon! We're so happy to see you've been enjoying them!!!
We are in Osaka right now. For Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Our third trip here. We love it so much. And there is so much more to explore after you get the more touristy places out of your system
We’ve actually spoken about this and we have only visited Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara so it’s hard to choose which one was our favourite because all 4 of the we’re completely different from each other 😄 However, in terms of our overall feeling, we probably felt the best in Osaka - great atmosphere (relaxed and without crowds), delicious food (because it is the culinary capital of Japan after all) and very nice people 🙏🏼
Osaka castle is best viewed from the outside. Hijemi castle is best to pay to go in because it is traditional Japanese as you expect. If you are going to Hijemi you can skip Osaka castle entirely honestly. It’s just better experience.
I would be more interested in Korea and China it's the past history of Japan not just a family problem it's is there aggressive past still I have enjoyed your videos

You can go inside Himeiji castle and it's preserved on the inside like a castle.
Thank you for the insight! :)

I did`t get the point -not what we expected, what exactly was so unexpectable?
You are right it wasn't the right choice of title - I've changed it!
