    Was graded for my 1st Dan Black Belt from him in December 1986 in Ireland

    Trained with him and his American entourage back in the 90s. I was with the TAGB. They were the forward looking organisation of the time... encouraged full contact and cross training with other styles.

    mr. cho in his prime, and maybe still, could split a heavy bag with his kicks. very impressive..his breaks were totally legit.

    Yep, that was him. Its amazing how in his younger years he explains how he was cocky, had a temper, and could beat anybody. I was the exact same way 20 years ago until my first day in Karate class (where I was humbled VERY quickly) lol

    Legit dude and HUMBLE! Only so called master that straight up says when you get older, you don’t get better physically, you get worse. Legit breaker, especially doing back to back reverse punch cinder block breaks. Your hands have to be conditioned for that

      I dont think so! I am going to try to go back to Hawwaii for his 80th next year and I will ask him! As a JKD instructorI am curious also..

      I interviewed him once. He was quite eloquent in English.

      @@GuroBillyBrown yes that would be interesting for sure, i recall reading somewhere many years ago that when cho 1st came to the us he had run ins with gangs and bikers etc so this is a guy that like bruce has used his training in streetfights, awesome martial artist didnt simon and philipe rhee train under him also ?
