Gina starts off talking about how she first met Chuck Lorre and how the series first came about. She was brought in to meet Chuck after he discovered her stand-up set online, and she was originally brought in as a consultant. Im from Cyprus, i went to uni in london and most ppl in my class were from 9ga, how far now !! Best ppl ever !! love the tv show as well
She is phenomenal, and as she says 'know your worth'. Gina has folks who love her from a multitude of countries. That quick wit, humor, charm and intelligence is a huge breath of fresh air. ❤❤❤
I first saw Gina on Last Comic Standing. Her humor and perspective was a hit for me right away. When I saw her on Bob Hearts Abishola and she was so funny, I thought good for her. When I saw the credits and she was listed as a producer, I thought good for everyone who watches. Congratulations Gina, and thank you for making me laugh, think, and feel.
What I REALLY like about the show is that it feels so honest. My partner is Ghanian and every episode there's a laugh out loud moment for me when I recognise the behaviour.
It is also really lovely that the show IS also representing MY relationship. Sure, I'm a white bloke and way too represented in probably every walk of life. But in this part of my life, something I get and can enjoy. Big hugs to all involved.
Shut up
On the behalf of all Ghanaians we say thank you and we love you our wife. A happy ending is all we wish for you ❤
All I see is a selfless individual who gave her people and culture a ladder to for the culture. ♥️
I love her as Kemi on Bob hearts Abishola❤❤❤
She's hysterical. She should have done the interview dressed as Kemi
Yes!!!!
Its unfortunate that they removed the entire cast except for Abishola and Bob for the next and last season.
They preemptively canceled this show.
It brought in millions for the network, but, they stuck to the formula that networks have used for decades, which is to create sit com content centered around black culture, then, cancel the shows after they secure the time slot and money, and put white content in its place.
Two great examples are 'Living Single', and, 'Half & Half'.
Its unfortunate, but, the more we are told that things change related to equity, the worse they really are.
This show is a wonder - hopefully another network will be allowed to move forward with it, with the full cast reinstated.
The network revealed that Bob Hearts Abishola will also end following its upcoming fifth season. Nov 29, 2023
@@japerkins3565You really follow the show
I love the show and love Gina Yashere and the authencity of the characters. It's smart, funny, and realistic. Great interview and can't wait to see the direction this show goes in. It has the potential to really educate and change the perception on Nigerians through this Yoruba lens in a positive way. lived in Lagos and love seeing and hearing familiar themes the show brings up.

Do you have an issue with the negative depiction of black Americans?

High alert!
This B talks a lot of trash about African Americans.
@@MrNYCme heéh when and why ?
Never heared her doing dat .....
Cheque ur ear !
@@ray1411 I think most normal people have an issue with the negative depiction of anyone. Except Nazi's and white supremicists. They don't get my sympathy.
I met and chatted with Gina at Sundance this year. She's so great!
I love this show, and I'm not happy to hear there is only one more season left which will end in May 2024! Let's write CBS to tell them this show needs to stay on the air (or get another channel to pick of this show and give it new life).❤❤❤
I have only recently discovered Gina Yashere and her work, but she never fails to make me laugh, make me smile, and warm my heart. She is a comic genius. This all goes to show that the best way to gain recognition in your life and your work is to be your authentic self. xx
Bob hearts Abi is a hit, I love it. I am so in love with my African Continent, Lord have mercy on me
Beautiful, intelligent African Queen .....who’s funny as hell!! Caught an episode or 2 of the tv show. This has made me want to really sit down and give it a chance
I initially saw Gina a few years ago on Last Comic Standing and her set about her mother got my rapt attention. Total fallout! 😂😂😂
I missed her for a few then came upon Bob ❤ Abishola, a whole new world and BAM! There she was, producer and all. MADDDDD RESPECT!!
Sending love & blessings from Trinidad & Tobago!! 🇹🇹
Yeah Gina from mock the week to come dine with me to people's party 👍. Gina has come along way from British TV❤️💪
Wayyyyy back than that too!

This woman Gina is incredible so smart so talented so AMAZING😍
I’m anxious for CBS to turn the show into a hour run versus 30 minutes; much to short!! I just Love the show; Kimmi is too funny!!
Its 'Kemi' not 'kimmi'
Thank you for the laughter, don't watch much TV but I never miss this show, you are a freaking treasure. 👍😁
She was brilliant in the show! Love her character in show!!
I've loved Gina since my late teens as a kid growing up in Brixton in those days she was and still is that QUEEN 🔥🔥🔥🔥❤
Never heard of her, but I'm looking her up now
THAT IS A GREAT INTERVIEW!!! EVERYBODY STAY SAFE OUT THERE AND REMAIN MOTIVATED...2020 IS STILL OURS!!
I found clips of the show on youtube while recovering from surgery in the hospital and I am hooked!!!
This interview was Amazing! Wow, Blessings Gina. So many "gems" were dropped. Thank you. #CaribbeanVibes
She is an extraordinary comedienne! Bob ❤️s Abishola is DEFINITELY going to have a long run - well over 100 episodes if they can produce them!

Time has proven me right.
Nobody still doesn't watch the show.
It showed up in my Shorts recently and then I been binging it.
One of my favorite shows. I hate it's coming to an end. I do believe Aunt Olu and Uncle Tundee need their own show.
Awesome interview and lovely background story on how this show came about.
had no idea she was British , love the show she is funny
I love this lady. She is funny intelligent and above all my Nigerian sister ❤
I love this sitcom. Hoping to create something like this someday.

Good on girl, making them upgrade you to first class, love how you stand up for yourself.
The world can officially leave entertainment to Nigerians 😂😂❤❤
Amazing interview and this a great inspiration to always have an open mind STAY READY1
Fantastic! It was a success!!
I found it, and so in love with it.
I ❤ Bob ❤ Abishola. Why is this off the air. Bring it back. Please
CBS has chosen to cancel it in May and has removed most of the cast for the last season! Big mistake, let everyone who loves the show reach out to CBS to stop this or see if another channel will pick it up!❤
Just found it today on TH-cam and it is hilarious. So true. Just waiting to watch the 5 series on Netflix but it is not on yet. Great show Gina.

My best show ever
I love this show it is very funny!!!!
YO TALIB, BIG UP RESPECT TO YOU SIR, thanks for allways making interesting content with thought provoking interviews man
Love the show
Why isn't the show on any of the platforms? It's an ode to our 9JA culture and we can't watch it here. It should be on Netflix, prime or something. All Chuck Lorre shows are on there.
Its the way the character says Bob for me.
Incredible woman ❤
Now THIS is a surprise
Gina is Hella Funny. .😂😂😂😂😭😭

Disrespectful 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Her accent is good i started thinking she was african
Did he compare her to Cockroach from the Cosby show?

Bob ❤️ abishola has been very disrespectful to black Americans and shame on Talib Kweli for not addressing it
It was addressed in the full interview. You can get the full interview on Talib’s bio page.
See they you go, is what you take from the show and learn African people. And how can you disrespect people who to this day call themselves black really ? You don't need a show to do that, y'all are doing it on your own.
@@ahmadahmed214 shut your 3rd world dusty village living @rse up
Seriously… I’ve watched the show and there’s nothing in there that offends black Americans… the thing is about our African culture and the American culture. Why do people make everything about race? Mutujeeko Akajanja n’olumpaati🙄🙄
Gina is a dude, right?
Is that a women
That show is straight trash.
TempeSoldier123
Straight. Trash.
This is fine and all, Talib but since you claim to be open for debate you should bring more opposing viewpoint kinda guests. Get conservatives on here, unless you're scared they'll burst the bubble.
lmao this ain’t fox
He should bring Thomas Sowell or Jesse Lee Peterson
No need to platform assholes. They have plenty of other options.
That show is trash.
i'm just so happy for her🥹
