- A beginner's guide to Vocaloid production from a seasoned beginner ~ This was a rather unforgiving hobby for english speakers to get into, so I compiled what I know into a simple tutorial.
NOTES:
5:07 - Scratch my other recommendations and please consider using Synthesizer V. It has a free version, and lots of seasoned Vocaloid producers are switching to it due to its technical
improvements.
6:40 - .VPR is the standard Vocaloid project file format only available in Vocaloid 5. It cannot be opened in Piapro Studio. .VSQ and .VSQX files can be opened by either editor, which is why they're often most available & supported within the community.
6:56 - Musescore now has a MIDI export function, so that kind of nullifies the whole part about note inputting lol
7:50 - I keep saying Beats Per Minute, but what I mean is actually Beats Per Measure. I'm so sorry lol.
11:30 - He doesn't sound any different here because I forgot that Vocaloid3 and earlier voicebanks cannot use the Growl feature.

Awe, fabulous! I'm glad you found it educational haha. Yeah- I have MAJOR respect for Utau users!!! 🙏🙏 They gotta do a lot of things manually that one may take for granted using another synth. You guys are the best!

I'll probably never compose a musical work but this video will help me appreciate the songs I listen more. I didn't know they had customization for breaths. That's pretty detailed stuff. Oh and one more thing:

I've been curious to try my hand at making a vocaloid cover of... literally any song I like, as a creative out let for a while and a friend keeps telling me to go for it... This was an interesting watch! I definitely feel a bit more prepared for the plunge, even if I still have obstacles like "so many other hobbies that I also want to be good at" and "I have all of one (1) high school keyboard class' worth of experience with making music, from a decade ago"
I'm 13 years old, my dream is to make vocaloid songs, but I won't have a computer even in high school, it will only be a dream until I get it, then this video will come in handy in the future.

Very curious and enlightning. I was trying to research "how does a vocaloid work" and it directed me to your video. I can see how complex it is to make even a cover song, it's a life challenge, no doubt about it. My question was raised after hearing the 葬送のフリーレン from Yoasobi duo. i'm super new to using vocaloid (literally JUST downloaded vocaloid 4 editor) and this was so helpful!! i've been looking to make covers of my favorite songs with hiyama (my fav vocaloid), kaito, gakupo, etc. for a WHILE now and this totally helped lol. tysm!!!
Really glad I dug this up. I've been trying to find a tutorial on getting into vocaloid since I bought Po-uta. Really excited to start making covers and even some original songs too. Thank you very much for helping me learn the basics, and I can already see some of the connections i can make to my workflow in FL Studio.
I’m 11 years old and i dream of being a vocaloid producer or cover artist. I don’t have a PC, And though i have enough money i don’t want to waste it. I’m going to make it someday, I know how to compose from my knowledge of music theory and overall creativity.

That's the spirit! If you don't have a PC, try Pocket Singer and Garageband for iPad. It's a start!

I'm 12 and also want to do vocaloid music! I have used my moms pc to use SynthV free version and Vocaloid6 free trial! I am trying to save money right now so I can maybe buy it in the next few years! I also really like composing! I hope you can get it soon as well :DD

I hopeless at on line music software, but want to give it a try.However I noticed all the voices, though brilliant singers, seem childish like small children in kintergarden, and Im look for a mature voice , can these young voices be changes so they sound older without sounding strange. ?
I would recommend you look into Synthesizer V! The voices sound more natural and mature. There is also a free version.

1:46 LOL! You can make music on anything if you are willing to wait. Just don't use stock windows, and use a custom ISO and it could work on a 4gb DD3 ram laptop! I got a full orchestra library working on mine.
I'm really bad at making music and vocals, BUT my OC is inspired by vocaloids, her appearance shifts a lot, she has a lot of versions of herself, Her age is non-existent/shifts etc... So if my OC is inspired by a vocaloid, then why don't I make it one? If I made one I'd be so happy to listen to the music the vocaloid producers made using her! I could even make a playlist for her too!
What you’re describing is an UTAU! you can make custom Utauloid voicebanks that others can download / use. You cannot make custom Vocaloids.

I have an issue with Miku V4X in Piapro studio on Logic Pro X on mac.
When I go to edit the lyrics the text window is too small to see the words or phonemes so I'm doing it blind. I've tried changing the screen resolution but it doesn't fix it.
I've used Piapro before with no major problems but this might be an issue with Apple's latest Mac OS update or something.
hi! im sorry for asking but do you perhaps know a tutorial that covers the installation process of v5 and voicebank activating process?? im planning to get it for my birthday but i'd prefer to know how to get it started beforehand since it's really expensive :,) the actual tutorial on the official channel wasn't too clear
so, after u purchase it online, they actually have a set of written instructions! i was scared at first too and looked up all sorts of tutorials beforehand too-- and like u say, none of them really went in depth-- but that's because they give you some pretty clear directions on how to set it up ^^ don't worry! it's pretty straight forward.

@@collie8589 yeah, sure thing! if anything i just recommend making sure the editor is activated first before u do the voicebank. it takes a while to download and the registration is tied to ur harddrive/graphics card, so i also recommend making sure that your computer hardware is prepared before u go forward with it ^^
Why can't I customize the style on V6?

Just today I bought Kaito v3 in hopes to make songs with him but, I cannot for the life of me find Piapro studio on my PC and every source I go to says I need StudioOne given to me to access it however I was only given CubaseLe, any help? T~T

A voicebank is a VOCALOIDs voice,you can make one with UTAU but idk about VOCALOID X3

I had a question;can we still use Vocaloid released early 2000s still? I dont like the new Vocaloid voices, i think it can but i want to be sure!
vocaloid 4 can use versions 2-4, while vocaloid 6 can use 3-6.
if ur worried about cryptonloids, using the v4x will be fine for modern editors. for the v2 cryptonloids, they install with their editor i believe.

i cant work out how to get piapro studio onto studio one,i installed both but piapro studio doesn't come up on the instruments list
like most of the people in the comments, i'm in my 10s and i want to be a vocaloid producer when i grow up. i'm always researching about it but i still don't know where to start. i also don't know what to do because i don't have enough money. i hope i can make my dream come true.
as i’ve told other kids, start with synthesizer v! it is free and much better quality than vocaloid. you do need a computer but it’ll run even on lower spec stuff. best wishes.

people do that all the time! they’re called talkloids. it’s just much harder to do cus they weren’t really built for it.

07:46 Time signature is not the 110bpm indication: Time signature is the 4/4 indication. 7:54 There is no such thing as a song being 4 beats per minute. Thats impossible. Neither 3 beats per minute. You try to mean time signature at 4/4. The 3/4 you also try to mention (there is no such thing as 3 beats per minute) though, still doesn't make sense. The metronome setting is 110 bpm> THIS IS 110 beats per minute. If it were 4 beats per minute, the song would be soooo very slow, it would probably take a week to finish.
