Have you tried the Vallejo metal color brand? If so what are your thoughts on it?

Yep I’ve tried them. The metallic air is way easier to use even with a brush imho :)

Would you say Steel is brighter or darker than Chrome? Trying to find a slightly darker version of Chrome for edge highlighting.

Steel is certainly darker than chrome. You can also try aluminum which is a tad darker than chrome too.
