I'm using polymer clay, so this material needs to be baked to harden if you use cold porcelain or air dry clay it will dry with the environment in a couple of days

They're pastels chalks, is not paint more like a powder 😉

How many degrees does it need to be baked for?
Depending the brand you're using, I use premo and that one needs to be baked a 275 F
do u leave the clay by itself to dry?
