Okay. I have played this game multiple times and I have never had the rolling luck that you had. I am lucky if I get one star each roll. Haha. Great play through.
You should have seen what happened to me on the prior play off camera. Geppetto took out 7-8 victims in two nasty attacks. I was very lucky with this one. He's not easy!
Great playthrough, very helpfull. I cant wait for my copy to arrive! One question, at 17.17 you changed the "3" rolled to a five by "burning" two cards. That gave you one success. Yet you moved the timemarker up two spaces. Shouldnt the timemarker be moved down one space for one success? Thank you for a great channel! I really appreciate it!

I just picked up a few feature films and having blast. This game could have been finished at the end of this video, depending on the last heart of course (havent watched part 2). Retaliate and your hammer would have done 4 damage. Just backed season 3, and love your masterful explanations you give during your videos. You are still my number 1 board game channel!
Thanks so much! I ensure that people don’t feel disconnected from what they’re watching when seeing gameplay. There’s a lot of high level auctioneer style gameplay videos out there to just rip through a game to move to the next thing. I like to find the soul of the game and show it. Helps people make much better decisions. Appreciate the kind words! 😄
I'd put the golf cart with the people in the with people in the forest of horrors because it can carry those people to the exit. If you head back over there you could rescue a bunch of people. This would let you get back to full health no matter what happens since she gets a heart back for each additional victim saved on the other side. Then once you are over there in that corner he may get lured over that way at the cart would become useful, but the benefit of getting a bunch of people to that exit is the main benefit in this moment.
Thank you! Was looking forward to hearing some thoughts on where the golf cart should go. I'm going to take your suggestion and run with it. Cheers! :D
You were doing so well and being so lucky. And then the final terror card happened and in one turn it all goes downhill at the speed of a golf car running wild
Exactly this. haha This sums up how the game will give you a glimmer of hope only to crush you moments later. I'm hunting for the next glimmer of hope now haha
Jonas is accurate about that one mistake earlier where you should have lost time for only having one success. There is one other that I cringed at bc I wanted to see geppetto go down hard and fast. After your furious strike your horror would have gone down thereby netting you an extra time ergo you would have had 6; definitely enough to purchase critical blow and just end him
@@mihalypentek180 Great feedback! I've added an explaination around what I plan to do around these two for the next video in the pinned comment. Cheers!
I think your first hit against Gepetto should have granted you time correct? You said that dropping the horror level down by one notch wont matter. But the dial itself shows what happens if you continue dropping the horror level when it is at the lowesst level. 1 time for each level dropped, or one bloodlust for each horror added if you are maxed out.
Amazing gameplay! Just want to add something, I think weapons can add the damage modifier to the retaliate reaction card, which would have changed the game a lot!
When you 1st attacked with the Strongman Hammer at around 48:15 you got to lower the Horror Meter and you said it didn't matter, but if you lower the meter when it's maxed like that you would get a time back.
Great playthrough! Kind of jealous of all the double successes you kept getting! Small strategy tip, at 54:00 you played a Retaliate to mitigate damage from Geppetto. You could have used the Strongman Hammer to add 3 extra damage to the Retaliate effect. Weapons can modify Action cards that deal damage and the blue cards are technically just a special kind of Action card. This might have killed him then and there, if you're as lucky with the Final Health tokens are you are with die rolls ;)
Thanks Anthony! I don’t expect that to continue at all based on my experience with the game. 😂 Based on the Strongman Hammer card which states the Action Phase ends when it’s used I didn’t use it on purpose as the designers planned to not allow this weapon to be used outside of the Action Phase. It’s not stated in the rulebook (so you’re free to do so) but the card says you lose a health and the Action Phase ends. This to me implies it cannot be used in the Killer Phase. However, I would certainly use any other weapon (that doesn’t have that Action Phase end icon) to bolster the attack (if I had the Axe for example). Hope this reasoning makes sense! 🙂
@@RollingSolo Makes sense! Hopefully the luck continues throughout part 2 and we don't get a classic horror twist when things take a turn for the worse lol
Hey William, thanks so much! Glad to hear you're enjoying them. I also have the original playthrough going up against Hans at Camp Happy Trails if you haven't seen that. Who knows what the future will hold, but thanks for letting me know your interest. I do enjoy revisiting games I love. :)
When will part 2 be released? I just ordered season 1 and cannot wait to get it. These videos are super helpful to learning the flow of the game. Can’t wait to see the ending.
I feel like you could have possibly defeated the Villian. You could have bought the critical hit, then with the hammer 6 damage, then you will discard the two cards from retaliation, then you could have beat him. Possibly, if it was blank.
At around 34 minutes in, when you spawn the 2nd puppet, does the “Target Victim -> Attack” not trigger for all puppets on the board? I would have assumed the one to the east of the Big Top would have immediately killed the Victim in its space.
@@RollingSolo I did check that out first. It didn’t address this question. I’m unsure, though, if I’m misunderstanding the rules or if this was an error in play.
@@chrismcguire5147 yeah he made a lot of puppet mstakes. yes that victim at 34 should have be killed immediatly and the puppet would have moved after killig the victim. Also when he addressed his movement mistake at 51 he not only forgot to correct the 2nd puppet (mentioned i the video) but also forgot to move the puppets he corrected/should have corrected for that round. errors happen, especially when you are already plannig 3 steps ahead and it was a fun showcase nonetheless. I also I haven´t come across a video on youtube of final girl where there hasn´t been a error. maybe the seemingly easy gameplay leads to more mistakes. but all of them were enjoyable and helped my decission to buy the game.
@madkoch12 is incorrect. The minion actions on the unflipped finale card do *not* include an attack icon, so @pish6969 is correct that no victims would have been killed at this point in the game.
I'd go lower left, get those two to the right corner, then hit that spot to get your special ability, heal a health, and bank some time for a critical strike card.
Hey Damien! Thanks for watching. The Strongman Hammer states that the Action Phase ends after using it. As such, I'm not going to use it in the Killer phase. The designers originally intended weapons such as this to not be used outside the Action Phase (but it's not written in the rulebook). For me, I’m playing this way but you’re completely free to play the other as it’s valid. It's worth mentioning the large majority of other weapon cards I would use in combination with Retaliate. Cheers!
@@RollingSolo Retaliate is never part of the action phase, so whether it was stopped by a card like when you used the hammer, or by you just choosing to end your turn there, it would still be able to be used so long as the range was correct. Wouldn't really be gaming the game, as the developer clarified this on BGG in the forums.
I also saw the BGG form but gal in the camp that this strongman hammer shouldn’t be used with a Reaction card. Sounds like we’re also talking about two different things. I’m talking about the hammer being used outside the Action Phase when an Action Phase end icon is on the card. It sounds like you’re focused on the timing of the Retailite card usage which isn’t what we’re discussing. Let me know if I’m missing something though!
@@RollingSolo my point is not the timing of retaliate, just that the hammer being used in the action phase, or that symbol being on the hammer, doesn't mean it isn't used for retaliate. According to the devs, if you play retaliate and your weapons in hand have the proper range to hit the killer from where you are, it can be applied.
This game looks so good. It will be hard for me to decide what I will get through the Kickstarter (resp. what I won‘t get). Currently, I probably will drop all ‚cosmetic stuff‘ and will back the second season with selected files from season 1. Regarding the miniatures, I actually find it less immersive when only some figures are minis and the rest are meeples 🤣. Can anyone tell me the size of the playmats?
Hey! You don't have to. The rulebook says 'may' because there might be a bonus for saving them that you want to use at a certain timeframe rather than burning it for no reward.
That does appear to be the case. I haven't sleeved mine yet but based on how the unsleeved cards fit I'd say this is true. Maybe a inner sleeve might work. Will have to check!
Didn't know you could leave victims and not cash them in. Noted. You should place the cart in the top left. MUHAHAHAHAHHA. (Yes I did it to make it as hard as possible :P )
I'm going to try my hardest to avoid it but Geppetto is tough! I was slaughtered in my play just prior to filming this one. He and his puppets killed around 8 Victims in a single turn. I'm trying to keep Victim's as far away from him as possible but he has lots of tricks up his sleeve!
I always feel tired when I think about playing Final Girl. Happy Trails is just OK, but the rest are simply fiddlier versions of that. Naturally all Feature Films run on the same engine ("Final Girl"), but they don't feel different except in uninteresting fiddly ways. The games just aren't that smooth and quick.
@@RollingSolo How can it not? Everyone says it's so good :-P It's not the randomness either. I wanted a solo Horror game, so what went wrong? Well I can pinpoint and explain it. Anyway I hope you really enjoyed the playthrough....as much as making the video anyway. I just tend to feel sorry for people doing playthroughs of FG. It's like watching paint dry.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but you seriously need to learn to get to the point. I think you are losing a lot of clicks by unnecessary waffling. "So I want to walk, and the ground is dry, it could be wet but it needs to rain and it hasn't rained so that's good...I'll put my left foot forward because left before right and then I need to look down and say hey my left foot is forward so now if I put my right foot in front, I might be able to move..." see what I mean?
Thanks for the feedback! I like to ensure that the viewer understands not only what’s going on on the table but also my strategy. It helps connect the dots for people watching. If I don’t explain how certain key decisions can be major pivot points in the game, the viewer can assume all decisions are easy and obvious when that’s not the case. I only allow ‘thinking’ a handful of times when it truly matters during a play. If you have a timestamp as an example of when this occurred let me know and I’ll look into it. Cheers!
@@RollingSoloI feel that explaining your thought process does help a lot of players understand the actions you take. If a player is experienced enough that they are irritated by your explanations, they probably aren’t your audience anyway. (And this comment is coming from an experienced player, so I’m obviously *not* irritated.)

Hey Gunnar! I don't know the size of the playmats off hand but if you ask in the Kickstarter comments I'm sure VRG will respond with specifics!
While resolving the Replacement Parts card, it seems like you added 3 to bloodlust even though only two victims died?
Be sure to check the pinned comment for any FYIs. It’s been a bit since this one so I’d have to take a second look. 😏
Why dont you save the victims at the exit space as soon as possible?
Hey! You don't have to. The rulebook says 'may' because there might be a bonus for saving them that you want to use at a certain timeframe rather than burning it for no reward.
You were so close… at least you didn’t get that terror card earlier on
So close! See you in the next one Mikhail :)
I keep hearing you can't put sleeved cards in the boxes. Your take?
That does appear to be the case. I haven't sleeved mine yet but based on how the unsleeved cards fit I'd say this is true. Maybe a inner sleeve might work. Will have to check!
Didn't know you could leave victims and not cash them in. Noted. You should place the cart in the top left. MUHAHAHAHAHHA. (Yes I did it to make it as hard as possible :P )
The rulebook states you may rescue them. You certainly don't have to! :)
Who's side are you on! hahaha ;p
Is it bad that I hope you lose? :P
hahaha I expect nothing less! ;p

Thanks for the feedback Bryce! :D
Might not be a fit for you Barnold. That’s a-ok!
Yeah think I’ll pass.
So far this year my wallet is safe.
Glad to help either way. The year has just begun. 😜
Excellent choice. No creativity in this in terms of what it adds to Happy Trails Horror.
