We decided to do a metal shaping video. This one just quickly highlights our power hammer as Wray shrinks and planishes half an aluminum gas tank.

Nothing cooler than a shop full of home engineered tools and machines that work better than the bought stuff! I really appreciate the time you take to share your hard earned experience in these videos. Love the equipment builds utilising useful scrap and offcuts. Rusty plowshares to metal shaping swords. Keep 'em coming Wray!

Wray. Short but sweet ! l have to say your recent shows didn't float my boat !😂😂 However , it's your show so you do what the heck you like ! Your hammer made the 40 +years it took you to master the art of panelmaking look easy ! Thanks Wray .

    Who cares about the feedback.
    It’s your page Wray.
A wealth of knowledge to be gained here.
Always looking forward to the next video.
Wish I wasn’t 16,684kms away in southern mainland Australia.
If I could, I would be there annoying you everyday.
    Love your work Wray!

I’ve been working with metal for over 40 years. My hat is off to you as how you take flat stock and pound it into graceful designs and make it look effortless. Pure artistry. And a great teacher also. Thanks for sharing and I for one am looking forward to the boat project updates as well (especially the first one)

Being from Minnesota I do understand your love of watercraft but it's cool to see you back to metal shaping! Having a personal project to break things up is nice as well but honestly I still am itching to see the Jag hood finished!

Great video, Wray. Don't worry about the complaints about the Boat, everyone needs something to break things up once in a while. I found them to be interesting. I think the '37 LeRoy needs a '30s style fender over the roller and a nice set of running boards....just sayin'...

I remember when I was at your class and you were showing us how that power hammer works and It's potential. Holly crap! What a monster machine that is. Glad to see you back shaping metal Wray. Greetings from Serbia.

I knew you would eventually design a power hammer! It can be tricky designing thumbnail dies to work right.

That's a very nice machine you built, some more detail about it would be good to watch. Also, I like your boat videos, they're very interesting :) Thanks!

Fun fact: The power hammer as you call it, was invented by a danish guy back in the 40s.. Niels Martinus Jønson from Silkeborg, which is the city i live in 😄

Sheet metal power hammers were evolved from black smithing power hammers. The mass manufacturing of black smithing hammers started after the US Civil War. Smaller cold working power hammers followed soon after.

I'm assuming you mean my shrink die. It is a Thumbnail shrink die, do a google search and you should find lots of information.
