I love this channel so much, it makes me feel so safe and homely ❤ I love that bonnie is so gentle with how she approaches sustainability, too much activism these days is overtly negative and involves shaming but bonnie make it so accessible and enjoyable which is what sustainability should be. Vegetarian & Environmental Engineer here - One of my favourite things to do with vegetable waste and cheese rinds is to freeze them in mason jars and when I get a few jars full, I boil them up to make a hearty vegetable broth! I can generally get enough scraps throughout the week to do a boil on Sundays, so I am set on broth for the rest of the week. It really helps with meal prep for the work week. You can then compost the now exhausted scraps, which are nice and tender and ready to be broken down.
Thank you so much! This sounds amazing and delicious, and so helpful now I’m trying to reuse, upcycle, reduce and cut down on waste. Also, I get through lots of stock so now I’ll have plenty!

Here in Mexico we are fortunate to have tons of different veggies and fruit not packaged. The negative side of this is most of street markets still use plastic bags to sell them, the positive side is supermarkets (by law) are changing this bags, so ppl is getting used to take their own fabric bags when buying them. It's a slow progress but it's better than no progress. What a lovely family, I can see why you are such a wonderful person. Happy dances made me so glad, thanks for sharing these personal moments.
