Been in love with this watch since I saw it for the first time in a magazine ad when I was about 10 years old. Looked like something from outer space compared to other watches at that time. Still does. Came very close to buying one several times. Still find myself looking for one from time to time. Just have not been daring enough to see myself actually wearing one. So I stick to my speedy pro, sub no-date and milgauss.
That is one serious dive watch. Designed for real deep sea professional divers. Rolex Sea Dweller is in a similar league as it can go down to the same depths. Great video.
I have the titanium version in grey. Often a conversation piece. Despite the size it’s very comfortable to wear. I think the bracelet clasp is as good as my Deepsea’s glidelock.
Robert Hodge hold down the release button with the middle finger and turn the bezel with the index finger and thumb. It would be unacceptable not to be able to turn the bezel on wrist. Divers get in the water, set their bezels and descend together. Taking it off in the water would result in too high a risk of losing a precious watch to the deep. For example, right off shore in Grand Cayman, the depth drops to 3,000 feet. The watch is gone forever if lost in those conditions.😨
I love this watch; it is everything and more you need in great tool watch....band around 247 365 and you wont even put a dent in this beast. You will love the movement! Thanks, for the enjoyable review
Hi J what a monster even the bracelet looks massive,I don’t want one but I certainly don’t hate it .It was built for a specific job and would have no problem functioning at those depths it an engineering wonder. As a tool its brilliant and not built for beauty.Great review again .Take care my friend.👍🏻
The real question is how would you press that button and turn the crown one handed? I assume it would be on your wrist when you do that because you know, that's where watches go. Edit: 5:00 look at the indent on his finger. It must take lots of force to release the crown.
buried the lead on the bracelet, Omega states it is shark proof. I have the same on on my Planet Ocean. Looks great. Nice job on the channel, keep up the great content
I have worn this great watch off and on....total beast...lights up very well reference luminous Worn subs, deep sea and although, I prefer the deepsea ....this Omega Ploprof does not take a backseat to any dive watch period.
Watching the bezel closely, it looks like a 60 click. I think that is actually superior tp 120 click as it will never fall between minutes for actual dive timing. Traditional clicking unidirectional bezels with 60 click dials were really loud and crude in their movements. Please take another look. I will be happy to admit it if I am wrong. I am just noting what I observe in your video. I love this watch and would already own it if my wrists were bigger. Now I have gained weight and could wear it, but finances have changed. I would have loved diving with a Ploprof. I do not believe having an observation back would encourage leaks. The front crystal demonstrates ability to have a water resistant crystal.
J. ANTHONY I looked at the detail on Omega’s description of the bezel action. I can find no info to support or dispute either of our positions. If I get one in hand and have a clearer understanding, I will do my best to notify you. Please keep up your informative reviews. I really look forward to them!😍
A super cool tribute to the designers at Omega. Would I buy one, probably not, but I kinda want it just like you do. But with its size I think that I would have to wear it on my leg.
Hi JA - Was just thinking a few day ago that Omega's could encompass a one brand extensive collection. I like this piece, esp on the tool like mesh. Would be cool to wear this Battleship piece when you visit the USS Iowa when in LA and lunch is on me. Have a vintage Seamaster (circa 66 on original mesh) and a recent Breightling Diver on their beautiful Milanese which is just too damn pretty to get wet. As to this Breitling, I like the flash aspect of it. Best, JP
Used to have a lot of hate for this behemoth but now I know the history (thanks to Armand the watch guy) I can only now fully appreciate it. Beautiful in all its supreme ugliness. Do I want one? ...hell NO. Would I ever wear one? Probably not. The bracelet is a work of art, as is the watch really! Much respect to Omega for having the balls to still produce it.
i know i wouldn't spend the money, but it has a cool factor that is simply off the chart. i bought a couple of rolexes back in the early seventies but this one never caught my radar--things were affordable back then--two weeks wages bought a gold and silver date just which is now about ten grand....
Amazed it can go so deep... Looks pretty nice to be honest, hate mesh bracelets though. Only problem, coming from a skinny guy, it just wouldn't work with me haha. It would look like I have a pipboy on my wrist. But great review as always!
I think this is the kind of watch you either like or don't like, with no middle ground. Personally, I prefer the Submariner, but thank you for the review.
Actual saturation divers aren’t wearing those on the job, I know one who always wears a Casio like the AE1200WH. Even if he breaks one every job it still wouldn’t come close to the pain of breaking one multi thousand dollar watch, Murphy gets his in the end even watches with He escape valves can pop open it’s not a sure bet. Mostly they all just use watches to keep track of their home time so they know when they can talk to the family.
Charles Bronson would have rocked this watch. A real watch for a real man. Not meant for millennials today as it would surely dislocate their shoulders.
I heard that Omega decided not to have a Helium escape valve on this watch and opted instead just to make it 100 times more air tight than a space capsule! Maybe you could check and see if there is a valve on this version? I also have doubts about that plunger to release the bezel, I struggle to see how that could be deployed easily on the wrist when diving and having to time a decompression stop.
The big deal is that it kicks ass....so have Subs, Daytona's, Panerai, and a zillion other watches with great, informative videos on TH-cam. Who gives a sh!t?
I think this watch is unlikely to replace the Submariner because that is a watch that you can dress up or dress down, and has a very classic look. This is an ugly tool watch where form follows function. I am sure it works well, but is something I’d only wear while diving.
Crikey! Its as mad as I often feel!Totally unwearable ? If I ever take the wife to a very deep saturation restaurant before the pictures ? Does it chop trees down?Bloody hell it is mad!!!Only a guy of a certain self confidence do try this out.UK.Cheers.
I love your videos, AND this is one of the ugliest Omega watches of all time. Keep the dial, put it in a reasonably sized case, with a reasonable crown and bezel and delete the camera shutter button and you’ve got a submariner killer. As is, this looks like an extremely pricey CLOWN WATCH.
I stopped watching this video about 10 seconds in when I realized this guy cannot even pronounce the watch he’s reviewing. I actually own one so I will help this guy out..It’s a ploprof not a proplof. Lol
J. ANTHONY 😂 In reality, the watch is a good conversation piece and it’s really useful if you’re a scuba diver !! 👌🏼 So you’re not dumb if you want it !!
I think is the coolest most beautiful watch I would not want to own.
Definitely feel the same way. This is not meant for everyday wear even on big guys, it is a pure tool watch.
Buy a homage and try one out. Its awesome! I can't afford one. So I have to wear the Steeldive homage, I"m sure I'd love the real thing even more.
In architecture they say "Brutalist" so ugly it sort of moves you. I love this watch.
+Ian James and I love 70s Brutalist so no wonder I like this....
I was going to say I love 70s brutalism as well. Must be why.
Do you still do You Tube videos?
I so dig this watch... it also digs me, or at least my wrist and hand.
Hated it until I put one on. Now LOVE.
Now that’s a big watch
I’ve just ordered mine and waiting for it to arrive.. I also wear my watch on my right hand 🤚 how does it feel on the right???
roger...did you get it, how is it ? what are your thoughts ?
My same exactly problem. Wears on right hand, was always better on every watch, but on this, they decided to flip the crown position.
Yes .. the coolest Omega ever! Incredible watch🙏🏼
I own this watch - in these colours too. It’s an utterly beautiful watch, the build quality is incredible and despite its size it wears really well.
”If you’re looking for wrist presence, look no further” 👍👍
+Cedar Canoe well said
That is one serious dive watch. Designed for real deep sea professional divers. Rolex Sea Dweller is in a similar league as it can go down to the same depths. Great video.
+Stephen Rudberg thank you
I have the titanium version in grey. Often a conversation piece. Despite the size it’s very comfortable to wear. I think the bracelet clasp is as good as my Deepsea’s glidelock.
I like it! wish i owned one. (i don't care if i never go diving.) thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
How do you use the bezel while the watch is on your wrist? (I suppose that you cannot.) Anyway, as always, I enjoyed your video. Thanks!
Thanks for watching. You can do it on the wrist with some practice and patience...
Robert Hodge I was wondering the same thing.
Awesome video!! The bezel is sixty click btw:)
I love this watch; it is everything and more you need in great tool watch....band around 247 365 and you wont even put a dent in this beast.
You will love the movement!
Thanks, for the enjoyable review

+Paul Brady thanks Paul!
It is like the Hummer of wrist watches. It definitely looks like it only has one job to do. I enjoyed this video. Keep up the great work.
More like an Abrahams tanks lol
Another good one.
I'm wearing a homage, but I lust after one of these!
In my opinion.....The DADDY of all Diver,s Watches.....And that Clasp !!.....One day, all Clasp,s will be made that way....What an Icon of a piece ;)
I'm going to get one soonish, it's a total badass. Just really expensive
+Marceau Ratard this one is 40% at Bernardwatch but still not cheap...
Awesome watch. Real presence.
And you can really get your bling on with the titanium and gold version.
Hi omega proprof 2009 model is it ceramic?
4:42 That bezel looks like a Coca Cola bottle Cap !!
+Junito Punto Comm haha, kind of
J. ANTHONY Yup !! Lol

Great video man !! keep going !!
I absolutely love and WANT this watch! Chiming in from Tampa, FL :-)
I have a homage and I love it. It has to be awesome!
4000 feet is very deep! I wonder how many its owners will be diving that deep? Thanks for sharing.
Zero

+Jeffery Neu ah, fair point on the crystal... I don’t have the watch anymore so I can’t speak to the bezel sadly
J. ANTHONY I looked at the detail on Omega’s description of the bezel action. I can find no info to support or dispute either of our positions. Thank you, I really appreciate you watching!

Love it!
Super cool watch. Looks don't matter, this is a tool. Would be nice if they did one in original smaller size.
A tool would wear this sitting at their desk.
love it
Thanks for the review.
I will stick to my Seiko Turtle or the Doxa.
A real man’s watch 💪🏻

+JP Davis thanks JP, the IOWA is for sure on my list! 👌
Great video, but holy heck, you can half your weights when diving. Not for me, but I can see conversations around the office about it.
Can't decide whether I love it or hate it! Nick, UK
+Nick Carson it grows on you
These j=kind of remind me of a u1 although way different both a tool watch but still beautiful to look at aesthetically
+The Watch Lounge yeah, the U1 is a classic
Used to have a lot of hate for this behemoth but now I know the history (thanks to Armand the watch guy) I can only now fully appreciate it. Beautiful in all its supreme ugliness. Do I want one? ...hell NO. Would I ever wear one? Probably not.
The bracelet is a work of art, as is the watch really! Much respect to Omega for having the balls to still produce it.
+Mark Playford yeah, it is nice to see something different even if most wont like it
What’s the price for one of them
New $9K, used closer to $5-$6K.
I would give up a body part for this lovely piece! I only love my wife more!
+TRUE LIBERTY hahaha, well said
i know i wouldn't spend the money, but it has a cool factor that is simply off the chart. i bought a couple of rolexes back in the early seventies but this one never caught my radar--things were affordable back then--two weeks wages bought a gold and silver date just which is now about ten grand....
That a sweet timepiece
Giann Agnelli had one of these, the original version obviously.
A Titanium option would be very cool, great video - Simon - Glasgow UK
+Toffee 2 thanks Simon, yeah that would certainly help with the weight
No. Go for steel ! Its meant to be a monster, embrace it. (Sadly Tit. Is now available)
Toffee 2: Omega offers a titanium and gold version of this model.
Amazed it can go so deep... Looks pretty nice to be honest, hate mesh bracelets though. Only problem, coming from a skinny guy, it just wouldn't work with me haha. It would look like I have a pipboy on my wrist. But great review as always!
+Julian Takeshi Quayle haha, didn’t know you were a Fallout guy...
I think this is the kind of watch you either like or don't like, with no middle ground. Personally, I prefer the Submariner, but thank you for the review.
+Savvy Life Strategies well said and I totally agree although I prefer this one. Thanks
This is a beautiful beast make my 300 seamster look like a toy
Another great review on an amazing dive watch. Long Island, NY
Thanks for tuning in!
The ugly side of it is what makes it very beautiful. -ART-
Is it a competition to Panerai?
Yeah, fair point
It's better than a Pam in every way but beauty imo
With that size how are you comparing it to a Submariner?
I believe it's actually sixty clicks, not 120. Correct me if i'm wrong
Locking bezel is cool, but doesn’t that mean you need two free hands to move it?
You can do it with one hand with some patience
i dont know if i could wear it...id be afraid the watch would bite me
Charles Bronson would have rocked this watch. A real watch for a real man. Not meant for millennials today as it would surely dislocate their shoulders.
Great tool divers for sure
The watch that doubles as a boat anchor. Good thing it has adequate depth rating for an anchor.
Definitely a better diver than the Submariner but not a better daily wearer.
The Omega Cyclops.
1:17 older then Rolex Sea Dweller in terms of lineage ??? ( 1953 Submariner leading to 1966 SeaDweller )
This watch has been out for many years, what's the big deal?
The fact that it's big and bad ass Jack, never forget that.
The big deal is that it kicks ass....so have Subs, Daytona's, Panerai, and a zillion other watches with great, informative videos on TH-cam. Who gives a sh!t?
the bracelet is upside down
I think this watch is unlikely to replace the Submariner because that is a watch that you can dress up or dress down, and has a very classic look. This is an ugly tool watch where form follows function. I am sure it works well, but is something I’d only wear while diving.
+Defenstrator thanks for sharing your perspective, I can appreciate where you are coming from.
If Chuck Norris was a watch, this is what he'd be.
Ugly is probably an apt description...lol
A Lefty right?
+Joe G yes sir
its nice really like just too big
Crikey! Its as mad as I often feel!Totally unwearable ? If I ever take the wife to a very deep saturation restaurant before the pictures ? Does it chop trees down?Bloody hell it is mad!!!Only a guy of a certain self confidence do try this out.UK.Cheers.
Haha, yeah it is certainly an unique watch...
You think it takes YOU confidence to wear this? I am the ONLY person in the ladies room wearing one. Guaranteed. "Disclaimer I wear a homage"
+Un-Named Trucker thanks both for the support and the honest perspective. I love it but I can appreciate your point of view
Don't spread the word about this watch! You may cause an hodinke effect!
+Buwsur Yeah, at least not until I buy one lol
Invicta is better
Better at what? Making you look like trailer trash?
I think its ugly
Rolex Submariner killer? Absolutely not. Too bulky and ugly to be a highly popular dive watch.
Meh, everybody has a Rolex and most people assume they are fake.
I stopped watching this video about 10 seconds in when I realized this guy cannot even pronounce the watch he’s reviewing. I actually own one so I will help this guy out..It’s a ploprof not a proplof. Lol
Submariner killer ? PMSL never in a million years ! Omega proplof is just hideous !
I could happily smash that omega with a sledgehammer !
Rolex Submarine Killer or Rolex Submarine Wannabe !? 🤔 Nobody will buy this Inspector Gadget watch !!
+Junito Punto Comm I’m dumb enough to want it....
J. ANTHONY 😂 In reality, the watch is a good conversation piece and it’s really useful if you’re a scuba diver !! 👌🏼 So you’re not dumb if you want it !!
It’s no wannabe. It’s actually awesome in person.
The Panerai radiomir is not a dive watch. You discredited yourself within the first 40 seconds of an 11-minute video.
